From the Heart.....by Another Level (Notting Hill - OST) |

There is a colleague of mine who is a MBA from a very reputed institute in India. He absolutely doesn’t have any airs at all. And treats everyone with care and equality. There is certainly a lot to learn from him. And there are people who are exactly the opposite. Behave as if they are the kings of the universe. Today, when I walked into the office in the morning, the security person at the gate wished me ‘Good Morning Sir’. I also wished him back. He is very much older to me and yet he needs to tell me ‘Sir’. I walked back to him and said to him ‘Do not call me Sir. I am very much younger to you; probably the youngest person out here on the floor.’ And he returned a smile.
There is a sales person whom I almost see daily selling socks, standing beneath a tree on MG road. He sees common faces like we, office-goers, and he recognizes each face. A few days back, when my colleague and myself were going, he saw us, recognized us, and smiled. We too returned a smile and shook hands with him. He felt so happy.
Well, I guess there is a lot to learn from my colleague – especially the way he makes friends and talks to people around. There is nothing to boast about being in a good job and drawing high salary. After all we were also students once, anxious about jobs and placements at college, anxious about exams and scores, tensed about careers and expectations from people around. We must not forget our past. I believe that whenever and wherever possible we must try to help out our friends to achieve things what we have achieved. It’s always important to share our experiences and wisdom.
I feel so happy when my juniors, who are placement representatives at college, still mail me and ask for advices on inviting companies. And its my pleasure to help them.
