Today was a different Sunday…not the usual office, disco, pub stuff. Three of my colleagues and myself set off in the morning to Hesargatta, a place 20 km from Bangalore. We went on bikes…Wow! It’s real fun to go on bikes and wearing jacket and goggles. Though I wished I had a Ducati! ;)
Hesargatta is a calm place full of trees and an ideal spot for people who want to be far from the madding crowd. It has large shady trees and the best thing to do there is to carry a charpoy (mat) and drinks and spend a whole day there drinking and chit-chatting! Well, we people realized all this only on reaching there and hence didn’t do anything of that sort. There are many farms, where ducks, turkeys and rabbits are reared. We had a look at those poultry farms and took some photos with the ducks! :P (They are better than girlfriends!..:P) There is also an artificial lake.
Then we went to Nrityagram. It’s a dance school started by Protima Bedi. We had a look at the artistic walls, furniture and dance floors of the school built under the serene environment.
Hesargatta is a lovely place for doing biological research. It has many species of plants for study. There are many farms where animal husbandry is carried out. And most importantly the Indian Council of Horticultural Research is located there.
There is also a Television and Movie Institute started through the World Bank funding.
We then took off towards Sammy’s Dreamland. On the way we visited the CRPF training center and the Yelehanka Air Force Station.We stopped at a Dhaba and had drinks ;) and lunch.
Samy’s Dreamland is a theme park built on the lines of the Disney Land and Essel World. It’s a new one and opened just two months ago. We went for all the rides there.Wow! What an experience to go on the rides after drinks! :P Hey! Anant, wht do you say, incase you had any such experience??;)
There are models of all the wonders of the world.We had a lot of fun out there! The water rides are cool!
Finally got back home in the evening after a ‘different Sunday’ :P
