Well, probably my project leader had read my previous post!!....He assigned me work! :(
Hehehee….I have been put in a team which shall ‘work’ on Cash Management and Refinancing modules of banking. Well, if a team has ‘namoonas’ like me, then god only know how cash is gonna get managed! LOL!
Btw, there have been two significant developments during yesterday and today. Firstly, yesterday, after my team was formed, there was a meeting with my project leader. He had read the feedbacks I had given about the previous release. He started telling that this release we should be more efficient and all that blah! blah! But, he came up with a very valid point as a consequence of the feedbacks and the high attrition rate. He started telling that we must compulsory take Sundays off!! Also, we must try to come in by 9:30am daily and try to leave by 10-11pm…Wow! So soon!...He has certainly understood that we are not pleased by the infinite number of hours of work and the working on Sundays too. Working till 10-11pm was like ‘half-day’ for us during the previous release! And so, atleast have been successful in making him feel there are humans in this company and not only machines. He became senti and started telling ‘I understand that all of us need atleast a day off for ourselves.’ Well, I don’t know how far this is gonna work…but hoping the best.
Secondly, today was my appraisal day. I had expected the worst. I thought that I would be branded as the most ‘atrocious’ guy in the company….never interested in work and very poor in picking up skills and functional knowledge. Surprisingly, it was total opposite on my appraisal report. I got an ‘Above Plan’ which means I have done an excellent job. And importantly, in the personal feedbacks from my team leader, he had written:
Strengths:
#Very sharp.
#Good analytical skills.
#Picks up functionality real fast.
Well, I don’t know whether this was to please me or to keep in this company or to encourage me. There was an appraisal meeting today with him. I specifically and straightforwardly asked him whether he truly felt this because I felt the total opposite. Then he told me that I had performed above what he expects from a fresher. Anywayz, I am happy…:D

I finished one of the novels I had bought “Where shall we go this summer?” by Anita Desai. It’s an amazing novel. She has a brilliant skill in analyzing and describing the human psychology. Today morning, one of my colleagues asked me whether I am interested in reading Indian authors. Well, I have read a lot of books by many authors from various countries. I liked their writings. However, Indian authors like Anita Desai and Vikram Seth and R K Narayan appeal a lot to me. Their writings have a touch of the Indian culture and life style. Its nothing to do with patriotism or stuff like that. Its just that I can feel in me the characters and life style and culture they write in their books. That’s because I can understand the life of a common man of India better than a common man of UK. Its because I can understand the agony and ecstasy of the characters in the books what these writers write.

Finally I got my goggles from baazee. I look like Neo....infact, more handsome than him...I guess no one doubts that!!...:P

Well, a long post, I suppose!! I shall end here!
