The bruises on my face don't look so bad now, and the stiffness in my body is at a manageable level. If I wear a long sleeved tee and sweats, none of the parents should notice the other bruises on my body. So I think I'm heading to practice today. Playing with the guys on Thursday is still right out though. One good landing on the ground and I'm a writhing mess of pain.

God they look ugly as shit, the bruises on my body do. They are still very dark, so they go much deeper than I first figured. Those guys worked me over pretty good.

As soon as the bruises disappear from my face, I can resume my job hunt. From the looks of it I can pick that up next week.

I'm going to stake out the warehouse, see what I can see. I'll have the phone on vibrate. IF I run into trouble, I'll call, but I don't plan on getting into any. Sitting in the shadows and watching is just fine with me.

4:41pm: I just got off the phone from a phone interview. It's for one of the top high schools in Tokyo. They sounded really enthusiastic and want me to come down on Friday at 1:30 for an onsite interview. This is freaking great!

It's an assistant coaches position. I'm so psyched.

9:49am: I was up before dawn this morning. Still trying to get adjusted to my new surroundings and routine. I decided to go running. Scoped out a trail and timed it out in mileage. It's a nice path. There is a gym located near it. I may go back there and check it out. Ever since learning to play racquetball, I've been itching to get in somewhere and keep it up.

When I got back from my run, the flower delivery was here, so I helped them unload and put the flowers in the coolers. I wandered around the storefront a bit. Looks like we have most of the supplies we need to open for business. I think we will be doing that soon. I'll come back down after breakfast and work a little in here, cleaning and organizing. If I don't keep busy, I'll go nuts.

Not knowing if I would see Omi or any of the others today, I figured I better at least leave Omi a note about what I want to see as far as a schedule is concerned.

1:54pm: Well, I finally did it. It took some time and alot of hard work, but I did it. I passed all my qualifying exams and I'm now holding my teaching certificate in my hands. Looks like I finished up just in time too. The call from Omi to regroup was unexpected.

Resumes and applications have been printed up to reflect my new post office box mailing address and are being mailed out almost daily. I'm not looking for much right now, since I still have my "other" duties. Something part-time would work very well, provided I can get the others at the shop to let me work the shifts needed to stay with it. I like working with kids. I guess in a way, I consider it my way of keeping the world safe. And it keeps me focused. If I can help keep them out of trouble, keep them on the right track so they won't grow up to be the worst elements of society, I'll be a happy man.

I have the experience with coaching afterschool soccer, so I'm hoping that is a boon to my credentials. I really would like to work for a school and be a PE teacher, maybe even coach some high school soccer. [grins] You know, having real talent to work with AND it pays.

Although...I swear, the under 8's and under 10's are an absolute blast to work with. They try so hard to please and work so hard at what they do. Even though it doesn't pay, it really is fulfilling work in and of itself. Their smiles and laughter are all worth it.

Maybe I can get into a grade school to teach. I don't know. We'll see. Here's keeping my fingers crossed!
