Happy Birthday, Ron!

Due to me being tied up with important disciplinary matters, I was unable to write in my journal yesterday, and thus, I was not able to wish you a happy fourteenth birthday. For that I sincerely apologize. I cannot believe it has been another year already. You really are growing up too fast Ron.

Oh, and you're probably wondering what I got you, for your birthday. Well, going against my better judgement, I got you a poster of the Chudley Cannons and a copy of The Complete Fanatic's Guide to the Chudley Cannons, although you really should be spending your time with less frivalous activities if you want to get ahead in the wizarding world. Just don't make me regret feeding this slightly unhealthy obsession of yours, ok? That aside, Happy Belated Birthday Ron, and may you have many many more. :)

A Very Happy Valentine's Indeed

Well, the day started out absolutely splendid, but then again, so does every day with her in it. I feel so happy around her, and giddy, and nervous and quite not my usual self, I have to say. So I gave her a little bear, and a box full of heart-shaped pumpkin pasties and chocolate, and she seemed to enjoy it quite much. I'm just glad she did because I'm not very good with giving presents. Naturally, the twins saw us and started making fun of me. I swear, I get no respect these days. And you think I would would, wouldn't you, with me being Head Boy and all. I don't know what I'm going to do with those two, always getting into trouble and all. For all I know they're going to end up in Azkaban with their horribly blatent disregard for rules and authority. Maybe if they had girlfriends that might cool them off a bit. But speaking of girlfriends, I invited Penny over to my house for the summer, and that seemed to cheer her up and even earned me a kiss on the cheek. Boy, I feel like the luckiest man in the world.

Then, that's when things got weird. Professor Lockhart got up infront of the whole school and announced that there was going to be an auctioning off of us "fine young bachelours" for the sake of getting new brooms. If you ask me, it wasn't the best idea, but then again, hardly anyone ever asks me. I was actually surprised with how well it was going, with both Harry and Ron getting pretty high bids from Ginny and Hermione, respectively. Everything seemed to be in order. And then came Oliver. Both Seamus and Katie were frantic to outbid each other, and I must say, it got quite nasty when Katie finally won, and it looked like Seamus was going to bite her head off. He even started fighting with Ron because Ron helped Katie win. Fortunately, Dumbledore, like the great wizard he is, quickly took action and stopped the mindless brawl. That Seamus is starting to worry me. He even bid on me, for pity's sake. I'm just glad that Penny was able to outbid him, but Professor Wolfe wasn't quite as lucky. Seamus outbid her for Professor Snape, you see. Both professors ended up taking an insane amount of points away from him, which is a bit illogical, considering all bids go to help the school. I'm going to talk with Dumbledore about that. I'm sure he'll listen to reason. Although I don't see what Seamus was getting at. It almost seems as if he was trying to get the professors miffed at him, because he obviously didn't want to pay the money. And then there was his obscene language which earned him another four detentions, courtesy moi. That got him even more upset, but fair is fair. At least Penny thinks so. <3

After the auction, things cooled down a bit, I'm pleased to say. Penny and I danced, and had a swell time. We talked about the summer and she mentioned learning quidditch. I personally think it's a good idea, might make the twins do something productive for a change. All in all, it was a very nice evening, mostly thanks to my very special valentine. I think I'm in love. <3

Note: I wonder if anyone actually remembers what today is.
