She's 76 this year. I brought her out to the bank this afternoon. Held her arm while she's walking towards the bank, the kind security guard helped to open the door while I'm holding her arms. Yes, she has a lil problem walking - but it is still alright, just slow sometimes. After doing her banking, i held her hands while walking towards the car, and helped her cross over the drain. She asked me a question "do you know how old am i?" Honestly i do not know what's her exact age. I answered " hmn...around 75, 76?" "I am 76 this year...." answered my grandma. She's geting older and older each day. Remembered those days when I was young, i always sit behind her while she is riding the bicyle. She often bring me to the well known lake garden in Taiping. Those days.... The difference between my bro and I is, I'm very close to my grandma because she took care of me one point of time when I was very young. My mum told me that after I was born, she brought me to Taiping for a couple of years, and there my grandpa and grandma will take care of me. I guess because of this, there's a connection between us and therefore i'm closer to them - compare to my brother.  She's 76 this year. I can imagine the days counting when she leaves me. She is no longer young anymore and I guess it's time to prepare and appreciate the remaining days when she's around. When I was small, she will occationally give me money...or when I score reasonable reason for my exams. Of cos I was never a bright student when I was young until high school - I still don't consider myself as someone bright even for now. Haha. Anyway.... She likes making breakfast for me, cooking and preparing meals. Of cos sometimes I tell her " Popo, come lar we go out and eat...what do you want to eat?" either that or most of the time she will just have very simple meal...plain rice, a few pieces of chicken and meat - that's all. I guess all old people are the same. I offer to tapao for her, but I knew the response will be "it's okay...took my lunch adi...u go and eat yourself lar.." I love her so much. Guess she's the 2nd person besides my immediate family. Of cos the 2nd person will be my girlfriend if I have one, one day.. |
