I'm always rather gleefully amused when people come up with a wacky phonetical spelling for a word of which they clearly have only oral knowledge, like "lue" for "lieu" or "wallah" for "voila/voilĂ " (hmm, both examples I could think of off the top of my head are French).
Of course, that's dreadfully hypocritical of me since I do the opposite, and have words that I know in print and no one around me has ever used. But I don't care; I'm rolling around laughing anyway.
