I'm sorry I know I had two journals I was assigned but I can never even get blurty to load or even work.

I'm pretty much done with the site and it's unfair of me to do these journals when I can never get them to load because the server is too busy..it's made me lose interest in blurty and this community.

Good luck all

It's been fun.

Someone needs to make an award for the best and worst journal. What we have here people is the absolute worst journal reviewed yet. Easy target, BAM! You suck. First impressions are lasting, they haven't updated in eight weeks, what do YOU think my first impression was?

0/5 Bonus: I don't like people that jump journals so much twice they mentioned that the journal was a new journal, then that they were moving to livejournal. Stick in one spot , but honestly thank you for leaving Blurty.

This is my first review, it's about roxygurl1
O.K., I have not much to say about this girl, I found her journal a little boring and the entries are all the same. She doesn't talk too much about her personality, feelings, thoughts or any thing like that, she always talk about her friends, what they did and that stuff so her journal it's like a EVERY DAY diary and because that I couldn't saw how she really is. She is a hockey player and she talk a lot about it. One of the good things I could find was her journal style, it's really good.

Basis of Reviews
Main: Worth 10 points each

Intelligence: 5/10 She doesn't show real intelligence in her entries but i don't think she's dumb, the entries are not too interestings and wasn't intrigants.

Emotional Value: 6/10 The entries are not too emotional, but sometimes she talk about her boyfriend and how she loves him and little things like that.

Individuality: 5/10 I couldn't saw something really unique in this journal but at least is
Consistent and her journal style is great.

Customization: 10/10 Well, this is another thing, I'll just say it's awesome, good colors, good combinations, great theme.

Courtesy and Grammar: Mmmm, I can't say nothing about this because I'm stranger(as you can note) and my grammar it's not very good so I'm sorry. BUT she sometimes use things like lol, cuz and that stuff.

Sub Categories:
Worth 5 points each

Bio: 5/5 Good bio, has all the necessary: A short description of herself, her likes and a little? citation?

User Pics: 3/5 I couldn't saw the pictures but she has an amazing icon

Contactability: 3/5 well I guess, she has only one E-mail but it's ok.

Quantity: 4/5 She post entries with regularity and their size are good.

Blurty Involvement: 3/5 She hasn't TOO MANY friends, she is member of two communities and she hasn't a interest list either.

Journal Style:

Sence of Humor: 1/5 Not really, I couldn't find something that made me laugh in this journal but I think must be something funny.

Style: 5/5 Very Consistent.

Openness: 3/5 It's Hard to say, she doesn't seem to be very open but she doesn't seem to be so closed either.

I tried both journals they have as well.

I can take another journal now since I haven't done one this month.

Thanks!

my first review. I think this was pretty nerve-wracking for me. :) But here it is. i'm sorry about the hang-ups before. dawningit's review.
Basis of Reviews
Main: Worth 10 points each

Intelligence: Judging from her entries and the way she writes, I can say that dawningit doesn't put a lot of effort in being smart--she just is. She's extremely sensitive and aware of her surroundings, and one of the things that amazes me about her is that she seems to put them into words that take you right where she was when she was writing that particular entry. One thing to say is: THAT JOURNAL definitely intrigued me. A smart person writes what they should write, what they want to and what they could write. No hesitations, which is basically one of the primary things I noticed upon reading the first few entries of dawningit's journal. Entries are superbly insightful, although I didn't quite agree on some of her concepts--they definitely made me think twice. I'd say her intelligence is about right for her age, but some aspects of her journal suggest a knowledge exceeding even her. 8/10

Emotional Value: She makes it a point to let her readers know what she's feeling and what she thinks. She's pretty open with her experiences which makes it pretty easy to get to know her. She often writes about her experiences in detail, with an extensive explanation of how and what she feels. They certainly reveal depth of her emotional stability. She knows who she is and is comfortable in writing about who she is. But even through all of this, her entries failed to touch a chord in me. 7/10

Individuality I think she is definitely an individual of her own standards and limits. I think that her individuality and personality is exhibited in all the context of the journal, down to her layout. Her entries definitely show unique impressions and opinions which is always a good thing to see in a journal. I wouldn't exactly say that her personality is consistent but I think that that's one of her individual sides that I like. 9/10read the rest. )

Well, while waiting for empyreal to add me I decided to give you.... darkangel_208.

Main: Worth 10 points each

Intelligence: I found a strange thing with this journal. I found that darkangel_208 is capable of logical thinking, is aware of the world around herself, knows her native language well enough not to slaughter it, yet she is writing about getting poor grades, but also promises herself to get better grades. She plays Tennis and is in the school band and has a very good taste in music, and seemingly an open mind. She is still young, so there is still room for growth. 7/10

Emotional Value: A great plus is the frequent appropriate use of mood icons. Sometimes she explores her thoughts and feelings, mostly she states them. There is something about her writing that reflects her emotions. I wasn't particularly touched by any of her entries though. 7/10

Individuality: From the 17 entries on her Blurty I didn't get to know darkangel_208 too well. Yet I found that she seemed to be different from many other teens on LJ in her avoiding netspeak 90% of the time. Maybe her personality would come through more if there were more entries. 5/10

Customization: It is a free account, customization is limited to overrides. There layout is pleasing to the eye, even if the text box is a little too narrow for my taste. The text is easy to read, which is a great plus. A major annoyance is the strike through effect on links. From the text I gathered that the layout was not darkangel_208's own creation, but since that was a while back, that might have been a different layout. 8/10

Courtesy and grammar: No LJ cuts, but there has been only one quiz. Spelling is ok, grammar is good. An occasional "cuz", "OMG" and the like show up. There are really practically no comments to reply to. 8/10

(Review for tazzytas) 2003-12-29 23:56

Posted by: rubber_duckiez

Okay, so this is my first review. I read ceadsearc's reviews, and it really seems I am the evil twin. I really tried to be longer on the main categories, but alas, I really couldn't find anything more to say.

Presenting you tazzytas.

Main: Worth 10 points each

Intelligence: Going through the entries I found a pleasant amount of geekyness, good spelling most of the time, insightful poetry/lyrics, an occasional article all hinting at tazzytas having something in her head. And she definitely paid attention in English classes. But I encountered the word "fucking" way too much. Since the vast majority of the entries were either quizes or one paragraph entries I never really got to see real intriguing or, to me, interesting entries. 5/10

Emotional Value: There was anger, there was a chemical high, there was sadness, there was depression. Mostly anger, but then again there was some undefined emotion in tazzytas's Adam entries as well. Not very touching on any level, rarely if ever goes deep. The positive side? tazzytas uses mood icons! Yes, she does! 5/10

Individuality: OK, so tazzytas could be any angry teenager, but she is not a teenager! She loves Eminem for sure, she works an everyday job, she likes to make her journa(s) all pretty, and oh my, she says negative things about herself (Bad news, Princess, you are not ugly, no matter how hard you try to tell your readers that! You are a womanly woman and you have an adorable smile, so please, believe me if I say so!) She is not much of an individual as far as her entries go, but in the whole, I can pretty much see one Trish. 5/10

Customization: tazzytas' layout comes from CherryStyle, so it is not a personal creation. The layout is really nice, however using the back button of the browser takes me to the top of the page. Slightly annoying. 4/10

Courtesy and grammar: The positives: good spelling and grammar, answers comments. The negatives: quizes and lyrics not behind cuts. Through is spelled as trew, maybe on purpose? Lots of swearing. 6/10

(Review for wickedsway) 2003-12-24 20:33

Posted by: draconid

Music: Counting Crows - Hard Candy

I couldn't quite work out whether her user name is meant to be "wickeds way" or "wicked sway". Either way, wicked is certainly not a good way to describe this user.

Main: 39/50.

Intelligence: 6/10.
I found it really hard to judge Brandy's intelligence. I don't think she's dumb or anything like that, and I found her entries very interesting. However, I found her entries seemed to be a little immature for her age. The teehees and her very excitable chatter often makes her seem more like an 18 year old than a 29 year old. Her serious entries don't have this feeling, but at the same time she doesn't write anything very insightful. There was just very little that pointed her out as a smart cookie.

Emotional Value: 9/10.
Brandy's journal is very emotional. From posts about her sister, to her ex, to her beloved Honey, they really made me feel that this was a real person. There are a lot of angry posts, and a lot of happy posts. I really enjoyed reading the depth of emotions that are displayed in this journal. I didn't quite "feel" for Brandy, but I could clearly tell what she was feeling. She also makes regular use of mood icons that appear to match her entries.

Individuality: 8/10.
One of the things that first stood out to me about Brandy's journal, and indeed herself, is that she seems to be a fairly girlie girl. I find that this is a rarity among the "older" (ie, over 21) users of Blurty and LJ. This was quite refreshing, if not to my usual liking of journal styles. Her family situation alone makes her fairly individual. Certainly she isn't the only woman in the world undergoing the various things that she has experience and is experiencing now. But the combination of everything, and her openness about her life, makes her stand out.

Customization: 10/10.
Ignoring the girlie-ness of the style, which really does not appeal to me as a person, it really is cool. A well designed style with a matching colour scheme. It really suits the personality that Brandy puts across. There are only two problems as far as I can see. In my browser the links on the left are vertically centralised rather than at the top (I checked in IE and it looks fine there), and the Skip Back link isn't right. It always skips back to the "skip=15" page rather than jumping back 15 pages at a time. A problem easily fixed (and if you wish and have the style public I can show you how to edit this Edit: She seems to have noticed this in her recent post and help is on its way from someone else). Otherwise excellent.

Courtesy and grammar: 6/10.
Brandy is fairly courteous. There was little un-cut that bothered me, well, there was the odd survey but these were few and far between. She does use things such as "LMAO" and her grammar could be improved upon. The problems aren't really with ability, but with that "18 year old style" that I mentioned earlier.

(Review of giish) 2003-12-20 22:12

Posted by: draconid

Security: Public Entry

Music: Evanescence - Tourniquet

Trying to catch up on the backlog of reviews, here's one much awaited one.

Main: 33/50.

Those of you who help out in Support will know how frustrating it is to find idiot after idiot day after day. And so it's refreshing when an interesting and intelligent person turns up on the screen. giish was one such person. What I read of her journal (which was admittedly less than I'd normally like but I had an idea of who she was fairly early on and I kept getting sidetracked - I've been reading this journal for the past week or so now!) was excellent. Well written, interesting, insightful. It is pretty much a "this is my life" journal - but the way she writes about her life, not to mention her life itself, makes it worth reading. As well as just the way it was written, her intelligence also came across in her discussions about work. I didn't quite figure out what she does (I didn't read that far enough back, probably) but I got the impression her work isn't the easiest job on Earth. Looking at her friends list, and the fact that she is friends of three of my favourite people on my own friends list, I guess I should have known it would be an entertaining read.

Emotional Value: 7/10.
When she's introspective you can really feel the emotion in her posts. I can really connect with her, I guess I feel some of the same things she does. But I’m feeling so inefficient. Insufficient. Boy do I know that feeling. I have seen more emotional journals, but this one managed to touch my oh so cold heart.

Individuality: 9/10.
There is lots about her that is unique. Her style of writing her journal, her life. Her post about her history (it's linked to in her memories) gave me a distinct impression of her - an impression that was definitely different than the one I get from most Blurty users. Her individuality shines through in all her posts however.

Customization: 0/10.
Ah, no. There are no overrides and I'm pretty certain it's a standard colour scheme.

Courtesy and grammar: 9/10.
Perhaps the occasional grammatical error or poorly spelt word. A few too many "..."'s which I must admit is one of my own sins. But otherwise, excellent. There really is very little to criticise here.

And now for the rest of the review... )

Total Score: 69/100. - So So (although I thought it was much better than this suggests).

I've reassigned two journals. If you want to do a review please let me know and I'll reassign one of the old ones to you. Right now I want to get rid of the ones that have previously been assigned before starting on any new ones.

If you know of anyone who might like to review journals, send them this way. We desperately need active reviewers!
