||RENT ~ Christmas Bells
I couldn't let March end without another entry, so here I am. Yay.
Recap of the weekend:
The only thing I vididly remember about Friday is practice, and how much I wanted to shoot myself. 3 hours and 45 minutes, which is actually really good since we went through the show (up to the middle of act 2 anyway.), but I felt horrible. I stopped at the vending machine to get a drink before I went in the aud, because I felt kinda faint, and wouldn't it have been lovely if I stepped on stage and passed out? So I got my pink lemonade and drank some and felt better, for a little. Then the dancers went in the hallway and practice. Then I went back to sit down, and Amanda came over and asked if we could do the lightning stuff, because she had to teach me and Bitsy it. Learned the lightning, Josh stole my lightning because he had to try it (I'm better lightning then he is. haha), and went back in. Tryed to do homework, but ended up just watching. Intermission. Went on stage with Ang and Cait, then came back down because we realized we were too early, and started a conga line in the hallway. Said hi to Vince, who was in the pit all afternoon. When we finally went up for "Small House", it's about 3:30. I figured we'd be done and I'd be home before 4. Wrong. The band is playing the version we've been practicing too, and the chorus is singing the other version, which is a problem. I didn't get home til after 4:30, and we didn't do the whole dance. I think I had a migraine, because according to the symptons on webmd.com, it checks out as a migraine.
Nice day. Nice weather. Met Shannon and Megan at A.C. Moore at 1, and walked to my house to do our project. It took us 3-3.5 hours, but it came out awesome. Then I went to see "42nd Street" at BHS with Megan (my sister). They were pretty good, and I'm so jealous of how professional their programs look. Then again, it really doesn't matter how good the program is if the show sucks. (Not that it did. Some of the leaders were really good (Particually the guy who played Jullian Marsh.), but I had issues with their set. Probably because there really wasn't one.)
Woke up at 6:30, got a shower, went to Dunkin Dounuts and then to dress rehearsal. Ohhhh, my costume's lovely. I look more Jetson-like than Siamese. Like a robot or something. But then again, our Lun Tah's first costume is possibly the worst thing I've ever seen. (He looked horrible in it too. I hope they don't make him wear it for the actual show, and give him something more like that Lun Tah wears in the movie. It was just bad.) But over all, it wasn't a bad day. Falcon typed up the lyrics and beats in our version of "Small House" for the chorus, and once they learn it, we should be good. (they've got 4 days to learn it though, but they can do it.) Now I've just got a ton of algebra and two projects to do.
That's why I don't sleep. School's too stressful.
On a more positive note, I was singing along to "Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better)" and the "Any note you can hold, I can hold longer" part, half a second more and I would have held the note. It's about 17 or 18 seconds long, so I can hold a steady 14 (16 if I push it.) seconds because I turn blue and pass out. Although that doesn't matter if it doesn't sounds good, so I'll have to check on that.
