The Ongoing Autobiography of Frank Carrera's Journal Holy smokes. I didn't realize it's been a year since my last update. Shit, so much has gone on. The biggest thing to happen is I'm a Grandpa! ![]() Dalilah Marie Carrion She's 8 months old today! And she's the most beautiful baby in the world. Now I know alot of people say that about their kids and grandkids. But for real! She really is the most beautiful baby in the world! If they lined up 1 million babies, she'd fuckin' win. That's how awesome she is! So what's new? Uhm, still working at the same store. Laura got moved to a store in Kingwood. It's a long drive, but she's making really good money there. She also went back to school! It's tuff, but she really likes it. She's taking culinary at the Art Institute of Houston. Laura's such a great cook and this is something she's wanted to do for such a long time. I'm happy she's happy. She's made so many sacrifices for me and the kids. It's time she does something for herself. With work and 3 classes, we don't see each other as much as we used to (which wasn't alot then either...), and I miss her alot of times. Then, I'm such a Jackass. I guess because of the fact I miss her, I get ag sometimes. Instead of appreciating her when we are together, I say stupid shit that pisses her off, then pisses me off, then we end up spending our only day together...pissed. It's dumb, but I'm learning. Ash is a Junior and despite have a baby, she is kicking all kinds of ass in school. She got a part-time job at Krogers. She wants to do so much on her own and that's good. While she was pregnant, she went to summer school. So she's actually got 2 extra credits going towards her senior year. And even though she missed 6 weeks of school last semester, she finished the year with all A's and 2 B's. The school sent a home tutor twice a week and kept her current with her class. Amazing... I'm really proud of her and the way she's dealt with this situation. She still has ambitions to go to college and do something with herself. Anthony, her boyfriend, is a good kid, too. He's been there since day one and has never left her side. He comes over just about every day, to see the baby, spend time with them and to help Ash out. I know, with guidance and God's blessings, they'll be ok. Ash lives with me now. She moved in about a month after the baby was born. She said she just feels more comfortable here. I'm glad she's here. ![]() Frankie. Damn, that boy is gonna be 14 in Novemeber! He's such a character and such a good kid. He doesn't bother no one. He's in band, he loves to skateboard and play video games. Just an All American Kid enjoying life. And that fool is funny as hell. He was here this past weekend and just cracks me up. I wanted to take a Family picture for Labor day and pics of the kids. For years, he's had this thing where at the last minute, he'll purposely doing something stupid to fuck up the picture. And he KNOWS it pisses me off, which in turn get's the other kids in the act, which gets me to yellin "Cut that shit out!", which makes them all laugh, which pisses me off more, which makes them laugh more. It's a vicious cycle... ![]() Take Two... ![]() FINALLY... ![]() Jasmine and Angie. The best of friends, the worst of friends. They fight like 2 old ladies in a nursing home, but are also the two best buds in the world. Angie sprout on us, but Jasmine really hasn't this year. they wear the same size clothes, pretty much. So that's an adventure in itself... They also crack me up. Just listening to them when they don't think anyone is listening. For instance, the other day we got some fried chicken. I only got a few corn on the cobs, so they split one. I cut it in half and let them get their food together. While I was, I'm listening to these two clowns NEGOTIATE corn on the cob. "I want the half with the stick", Angie says. "Aw man, I wanted the half with the stick, Angie." "Too bad, I called it first." "I'll do anything you want, Angie, let me have the half with the stick." "Nope." "Come on, Angie!" "No. You should have called it.". "I'll do whatever you want, let me have it." "I'll let you have it, if you give me a piggyback ride for as long as I want." "I'll give you a piggy back ride until we have to sit down and eat, then for 5 minutes after that." "10 minutes and you have to pour my drink." By this point, I was going to tell them to both shut up and just eat, but Jasmine was already walking around the kitchen with Angie on her back! You know what? I titled this "What a difference a year makes". Now that I think about, no. Not really... |
