10:43 am - I feel stupid, but I know it won't last for long.

Why is my dome light on? Isn't it supposed to be? No, it should've turned off Maybe the switch is flipped or something. Yeah, I'll go check on it [Unlocks car. Turns car on. Plays with dome light switches. Dome light remains on.] Well, crap my battery will get drained. Just disconnect the battery. [Pops open hood. Realizes car is very hot and it's raining out.] Can you give me a jump in the morning? Yeah. Maybe it's a short in the doors? Here I'll wipe them off. [Wipes doors. Dome light still on] Ok, we'll leave and when we come back maybe it'll be magically fixed. [Leaves. About 5 hours pass] Hey! It's off. [Cranks car on. Dome light remains on.] Maybe we will have to take it in tomorrow Ok, I'll come get you around noon. Bye! [Goes upstairs. Types in "Ford mustang 2004 dome light problem" First link reads "Before you blame me for being a blonde, I've messed with the headlight switch. All the way left clicks, and that's what the domelights on is supposed to be, but it makes no difference." ] Hmmm? [Goes downstairs. Turns headlight switch to right. Dome light turns off.]

1:51 pm - Fifteen... Caught in between Ten and Twenty
|
Well, I just finished my masters degree and I'm getting married this summer. ::Tugging on my pants leg:: How old are you? I'm twenty-two. How old are you? Six and a half. You're old. Gee, thanks. When I'm that old, I'll be married and have lots of kids. Really? ::Looks at her Mom, the scientist:: And I will be an airplane pilot, an' a ballerina, an' a scientist, an' a veteranaria. You mean a veterinarian? That's what I said! And I will solve all my mom's problems. ::Looks at mom again:: Problems? ::Looks at her mom, concentrates:: I mean, sperameats You mean experiments? That's what I said!

11:02 am - That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang
|
Well, I really don't want to be at work right now. Why? Well, why would I want to be at work? There is literally nothing for me to do. I've cleaned, organized, and fed the rats. What else is there? Evidentally nothing. So, I sit here at the computer and try to think of interesting anecdotes to write about. And considering my limited writing ability, this may be more painful for you than me. Nope, nothing interesting. [However, I would like to make a plea to anyone who may one day decorate the interior of a bathroom. Do not place a long mirror on the wall opposite the toilet. The last thing anyone needs to see as they sit down to relieve themselves is an up-close and personal view of their crotch.] Ok, so now on to what I'll be doing for the next week or so.... -Saturday: Eric Lin's place for Memorial Day BBQ -Sunday: Sleep and clean up around the apartment. It was pointed out to me that people coming up in the next couple of weeks may like to see the place. And conventionally an apartment is to resemble a home, not a pig sty. -Monday: SURGERIES on 30 (count 'em 30) rats. 8am-ish to 3:30pm-ish. -Tuesday: Feed said rats, hair trial (on myself not the rats), marriage license? (did you know that you need one of those to be legally married. This actually eases my mind to know that because it means that when Ebony Moore pronounced me married to Scott Larimore in the first grade, it was not a legally binding contract) -Wednesday: radioactive PERFUSIONS on 9 rats -Thursday: radioactive PERFUSIONS on 12 rats -Friday: radioactive PERFUSIONS on 9 rats
Ergo, if I'm not glowing in the dark by Saturday... I'll consider the week a success!

11:07 pm - And for the million hours that we were
|
Hit of nostalgia. Stephen (in an heroic attempt to avoid studying) hung up my "french message board." It's the thing with the criss-cross of ribbons to hold pictures and other memorabilia. I was looking at the pictures tonight and many of them (most) are from my "wall-o-pictures" freshman year. There's a couple of pictures from the day before I moved to Gainesville (Jen Hart with Spencer... Jen, Jenny, and Lora striking Charlie's Angels-esque poses). The sad thing is that as I was looking at these pictures I realized how seldom I talk to everyone. The last time I saw Jen Hart was New Year's eve 2004. And I can't remember the last time I saw Jenny or Lora. Or Peter for that matter.
My "board-o-pictures" is beginning to look like the "board-o-lost-friends."

12:27 pm - Finally!
|
|
I FINALLY have my new computer! Yay! It's so totally sweet. However, trying to use a Mac OS is a little confusing at first. However, it is a lot more intuitive. But getting my mac mini at 10am, right as I was getting ready to leave for work, kinda thwarted all my work intentions. Que sera... I'll be slaving away tomorrow!

8:38 pm - The roof, the roof is on fire
|
No, that beeping smoke alarm has nothing to do with a party. I'm just trying to cook again, the operative word being trying. As of today, I have (to varying degrees of success) made four things that did not come out of a box. And Stephen tells me that they're edible. Now, why after all these years am I trying to cook you ask? I'll tell you. It's because of a horrible, tragic event that occured recently... I grew tired of Macaroni and Cheese. I'll give you a moment to recover.... Also, I found out that Stephen is not always at my beck and call (as he should be, but med school seems to have other plans) and sometimes he is not available to cook for me! It really was a tragedy when I found this out. So, now I've gotten a cook book and began the task of trying to make edible meals.
So far every single one of them has resulted in the smoke alarm going off.

So, I actually did it. Despite me thinking the opposite. I passed all my courses (did pretty well if I might add). It is kind of odd to be done. I am really, really, really happy to no longer have to patronize the business school. Still, it has been a good last year. Well, I've gotten a degree in Bull Shit, More Shit, and now I guess I'll Pile (it) high (and) Deep next year. :-)

10:13 am - Heart Attack
|
I think my prof is trying to give me a heart attack.
Hi All, The MAN 5502 letter grades have been sent to the registrar. You ought to be able to retrieve your grade using ISIS later in the day. I will post the breakdown into the various component scores (final exam, group presentation etc) on the course website tomorrow (TUESDAY); the delay is because I am out of town on a conference. So please be patient and do not ask me individually about your grades. I cannot post the final exam key online but I will make a few hard copies of it available in the DIS office from Wednesday onwards. If you are interested, please drop by and consult it. I will send a further update tomorrow about a date and time when you can see your final exam if you want to. Best, Anand Paul.

6:58 pm - If pomp and circumstance makes you cringe...
|
Ok. I will totally forever be a band geek. If you click this here link. You will see what I mean. Those are actually my jokes and, yes, I really did contribute them to this site. I think it was because of some people I met at a band contest. In addition, I'd like for you to take note of the word "Euphoria" (and yes this is the origins of my SN) used on this page. Krystyn and I came up with the name on the way to some contest our junior year of high school.
I would also like to point out three other things: (1) I thought everyone knew who P.D.Q. Bach was (or is). Apparently it is a band thing. (2) I am marrying someone who does not know who the above was. (3) I really did time myself to see how long it took for me to change into my uniform.
Although I'm not in band or color guard now (and probably never will be again), I will forever be a band geek.
I don't know how I feel about that.

5:27 pm - My feel for you is decaying right in front of me
|
So, I'm going to chapter tonight. It's very, very odd to think of doing that again. The last chapter I went to I practically swore that I'd never return. Still, I return tonight. I have no idea what I am/was thinking. I'm tossing my hat into the ring for community advisor for chapter. Why you ask? It's out of some naive idea that I can use my experience to help chapter. At the very least I can tell them not to talk to Mrs. Buggs at DCF (some of you out there may remember my frantic-ness before last sectionals). Last week this seemed like an excellent idea, but now I'm worried. What if I really can't help chapterand I'm just arrogant enough to think that I could lend some sort of help to people? Who knows? At least I was active for a good long time.
In other news should I get a Mac Mini or a desktop PC? Any help there would be nice! Thanks!

10:03 am - Say a little prayer
|
|
For my poor laptop. It died this morning at 7:45am. Which was perfect timing seeing as how I needed it for my 9:35am class. Well, died may be an overstatement, but it's definitely out of comission. (It'll turn on and I think it may be trying to boot, but I don't see anything) So please hope for the best for my dearly departed to return from the grave.

10:58 am - Emily Post should die...
|
Oh wait, she already did that.
Why would I hate a dead woman you ask? Because she seems to forget (make that past tense) that the computer was invented for a reason… to make life easier! However, her and her brethren seem want me to hand address about 90-odd invitations. Why? Because it shows that I actually care. However, if I were to print off addresses onto labels it would show that I really didn’t care if these people showed up at all. How odd! I mean, you’d think the invitees would have gathered that by the fact that I they only vaguely remember receiving my birth announcement or that I threw up on their suit when I was two years old. And everyone else would just look and say, “Hmmm, clever.”
Other than hating addressing invitations life is good. I just finished taking my midterms (yay!) and my Dad is coming up this weekend (yay!). So, that’ll be a lot of fun. And the taking of midterms means that this semester is almost over! Only 4 more weeks and I’ll no longer be a business major. Yay!

2:33 pm - Another update
|
Now, I know that everyone has been excitedly waiting for an update (or diatribe) about my life. And so here it is.
I am feeling in a rather witty mood after watching the first disc of the first season of "Gilmore Girls." Which brings me to a rather unrelated point, Netflix and Blockbuster Online are competing for our business. They both have 2 week free trials. So, we're seeing which one gets the DVDs to us the fastest and has the shortest turn around time. So far, Netflix is winning (see Gilmore Girls reference). However, Blockbuster can still catch up.
I went to Weekend yesterday. Which was a thrilling time. Actually, it was very fun. Chris put in an appearance, plus a few others (read: Stephanie, Chris Mackey, and Andrea) decided to make a cameo appearance. There's nothing like driving two hours to get to a campground and hanging out with friends. Really, there's nothing like it.
On the apartment front, we're still unpacking! It's amazing how much crap one can accumulate. Even if one has occupied a 10 foot by 10 foot space for the past 2 and ? years. I'm still getting rid of stuff. At least my desk is now set up. I have set up my docking station (to be used as it is actually intended) and should be getting a new LCD screen in sometime in the next week or so. That'll be pretty sweet for me and Stephen gets to realize his dream of having two monitors (albeit two CRTs). Wedding stuff is going well. The save the dates were finally sent. The invitations have arrived. And in a few weeks Stephen and I will take engagement pictures. Perhaps it is just me but the idea seems a bit funny after all, we've been engaged for a little under a year now.
I got my official acceptance letter to the UF graduate program at Shands. So, I'll be an official member of the College of Medicine this time next year. Much to everyone's relief I'll go back to being just a plain old science dork. As opposed to a science dork in business school. However, as of April 30, 2005 I'll have my masters of science (I know, science?).
Well, as it is Sunday afternoon I shall utilize it as God intended it to be utilized? finishing homework due tomorrow. Have a good time everyone!

9:35 am - Paint it black
|
As some of you may know, my goal in life is to have a room for my desk and a room for my bed (in other words a deskroom and a room for bed). As of today that goal is realized. I have a room for my desk and a separate (but equal) room for my bed. I know that you all will join me as my happiness resounds through out the world.
In other news: Last module for business school, Amanda's national day of mourning is over, got a raise at work, still haven't gotten the official IDP letter, and I got my dress.
That is all. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.
Edited: 3/15/05. What do you want from me? It was early!
