*throws tantrums*

My internet connection at home is still not up yet. Really really irritating. Have called Singnet yet they have not done anything constructive.

Its getting so bloody boring at home. You know, after a hard day of NS, one would wanna get home and relax, chat with friends and surf cool shite online..but argh...no internet connection for me!!!! Tmd.

*sulks*

And my officer is not making things for me at the office. She just accused me this morning, of not being in office when im actually at another officer's cubicle, doing HIS work. Always jumping to conclusions without getting even getting any shred of evidence.

Sometimes i really want to slap her across the face until my arm drops off. Or just stick my boot into her face.

*sulks even more*

[ music | Bent -- Matchbox 20 ]

The weekend was a mix of the good, the bad and thankfully, no uglies.

Sat was a rather eventful day. Headed down to Queensway with KJ and Pang. Looked around for a decent messenger and shoes, decided on none in the end. Queensway in my opinion now...is a glorified place for what its worth. The big shops are almost in a coalition of sorts whereas the smaller ones have limited stocks and marked up prices. As for the fashion ones...well, a lil too bengish for me? I did a see a few nice ones though..kinda doubt they have my size. The infamous problem of the Singaporean cutting has gotten too personal for me.

Dinner was with the family at this japanese restaurant called Honjin at Shenton Way. Food was rather good though the cooking could be faster. Maybe its because we had a la carte buffet then the cooking was slow? Those who didn't have the buffet had their food served in decent time.

Ate sashimi for the first time. I have always sworn off raw food as I had some bad experiences with it when I was younger. This time...what the heck, so I went for it. Nothing really fantastic ya know. Tasted real bland, didn't quite like it with the soy sauce either. To me...its like jelly but because the mind tells you its not jelly, therefore tastes a lil off.

Sunday was soccer...then it rain. And did it rain for the entire afternoon. Its like nature is compensating for something it left out over the weeks.

Plus one more major bummer...my internet connection was down and still is down! Warrao whey. Everything there is a "storm" at Hillview..there goes the connection. So irritated with Singnet. Felt damn lost without the internet too...heh heh.

Thank goodness the internet at the office is up. =)

Another unknown week ahead. Hmm...*anticipates*

Mich, study smart, not too hard. Its too near for any unnecesary stress now.

[ mood | depressed ]
[ music | Love Song For No One -- John Mayer ]

Its been a weird week. One moment its like so busy in the office, the next is so placid that we go out for two hour lunches. Amazing.

There is something that's been bugging me. And that is what do I do after I ORD. Study full time or take a job and continue part time studying? Of course, all these will change should I get into NIE or NUS but that looks very unlikely now.

If I were to find a job, I would see myself either as a teacher or someone in the hotel industry but not definitely, as Doris has kindly advised me not to be so rash with regards to career choices. Either a teacher or something like a guest relations/services officer/exec. Something that allows me to interact, influence and assist.

Maybe I should put such things at the back of my mind for the time being. After all, its still a good 6.5 months till I ORD. Plenty of time for the unseen forces to put me on another course...perhaps.

So...fun time!

bounce time [09 Oct 2005|12:35pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]
[ music | You and Me -- Lifehouse ]

Saturday has come and gone. Midway through Sunday and a new whole new week is coming. Oh man...this sucks.

Large part of Saturday afternoon was spent at Jam's place, just lazing around and talking. Had loads to talk about, considering we have not seen each other for like a month or so.

Headed down to Laguna National at around 1830hrs. Was supposed to meet Ben at Simei MRT at 1700hrs but overslept so had to take a cab down. Omg, cost me $17.70. Wah lau whey...

So the wedding was rather nice. The food was not bad, maybe that's why CPT Eric chose this country club instead of a hotel. And...no pretty babes. Ok, there were a few but they were like 25, 26? Cannot lah like this.

One thing about singaporean weddings, people tend to dress down. Some even went in faded jeans and sneakers. Like eh, its not very nice. At least wear proper jeans, pants or something?

Tony, Jervais, Gloria, Sze Chuan, Mavis, Alvin and I zipped down to Madam Wong's after the wedding. Managed to get in free, thanks to Mavis's friend, Peilin, she being a member. Speaking of Peilin, she's damn attractive. Small and rather charming. Pretty. But it was rather dark in the club...sooo..aaaaahahaha.

Hung around the main area for awhile and switched to the R&B room once the music turned techno. The R&B for once was rocking! Benjamin, Brandon, Evan and his gf + his friends joined us later after getting bored at a salsa club. Had a great time dancing and mixing around. The small crowd at the R&B didn't fail the match the energy at the main area. Dig that! The Peilin was rather...off? Mavis tried to get her to dance with Jervais at first then later with Jervais and I as a foursome(no sexual pun intended) but she didn't want to. Maybe I was too butt ugly or young(Im 20, she should be..22/23?) for her but Jervais? He was one of Cleo's Most Eligible Bachelors before ok! And he is 26/27? Ok, also perhaps this is the first time we met but still...trying to have a good time together is the main aim of clubbing aint it? Unless of course one night stands are the objectives but shall save the topic for another time, heh.

Had a 0330hr breakfast at Al Ameen before comtemplating to walk home. But Brandon and I decided we were too fucking lazy to do that and hailed a cab in the end. Cause we had to walk past The Hillside, along Hume Ave then reach our respective places. At 0430hrs?! Haha, sounds gay and too pissed drunk for me.

Such a fun day. I wanna do it again, sans the wedding. Not that it sucks but er.. a lil too lovey dovey for me. Haiyooo, My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion???? No thanks.

Shall aim for a Nov outing!

You Are A: Duckling!

DucklingThe cutest of the cute, these baby ducks are often spotted in the spring following closely behind their mother. As a duckling you will grow up quickly, becoming one of the adult ducks seen commonly in ponds and streams. You were almost a: Duck or a Bunny
You are least like a: Pony or a TurtleWhat Cute Animal Are You?

im a bloody duck..and i ate myself last night at the wedding. bummer.

Its 9:10pm and Im still at the office. No, Im not doing OT but doing duty! Wah lau whey...why I so swuay one? Second duty in a row staying till 9+, 10pm.

I need a new impetus in my life.

The week is coming to an end and I feel that I have accomplished nothing. Its so...not right. I mean I do not feel this way often but strangely...mmm.

I must be mutating again.

Saturday promises to be nice day. Afternoon will be spent at Jam's place then the evening will be at Laguna Golf and Country Club for CPT Eric's wedding. The rest of the night will be at Madam Wong's! Oh so looking forward to it.

I feel like going to the zoo again. Any willing participants?

Going running tomorrow. Let's hope the weather holds. Don't feel like gymming cause no point lah...how to sweat in air conditioned environments. Means I have to work doubly hard...erm, not very worth it, hahaha!

Zoo?

[ music | Strange and Beautiful (I'll Put A Spell On You) -- Aqualung ]

An eagerly awaited Saturday has come and gone. Woke nice and early at 1000hrs, lazed around till 1130hrs before leaving for Clementi.

Met Weili at Clementi Interchange and took 96 to NUS. Almost got lost after alighting the bus in search of the sports complex. Once there, was lost again as there were like 6 multi purpose halls? Wah lau whey...can't they just have one big hall instead? Then I can ogle at the volleyball girls too, who were unfortunately training at another hall instead of the badminton court hall. Sigh.

Anyway, had a fun time with Shamantha, Weili and Wenyou. Shamantha totally owned us lah, after all, she was expected to. NJC badminton school team player. Tsk. As for me, was rather outta touch. Missed sitters and smashes. Dumped several easy smashes into the net, when on other days I would have made the point. Missed the shuttle at times even! Haiyo, terrible terrible. What will my legacy think of me? Wahaha.

Spent some time catching up on each other's lives. Wenyou and I are planning another gathering some time in December, perhaps the Christmas week or something. A bbq at my place, hopefully with more of the primary school mates. Oooo, anticipation.

Just read on Yahoo news that terrorists have struck on Bali again. Even though this time its on a smaller scale, or so it seems, it still is very dastardly of the terrorists. But then, can we expect anything less? By bombing innocent people, it is not a mean to an end, it will just end in more repercussions from the authorities and more thirst for revenge on the side of the evil doers.

And to think I was there last year, around end November I would think. *shudders*

An eye for an eye indeed. However great the person who came up with this statement may be, he certaintly made a mistake there and then.

And yes, Shamantha has done her job, brillantly. How can I not adore this girl. Playing badminton this saturday at the NUS Multiple Purpose Hall, Court 5. So looking forward to meeting the old pals from primary school again.

And how many courts does the Multi Purpose Hall contain huh?

I forsee this as a big spending month for me. If Sheena did actually get the Jack Spade bag for me from New York(and I hope she did), it will cost me US$95. See, my chinese aint that bad. Contrary to popular belief, I can speak decent mandarin, or chinese, for this matter. Just that sometimes my enunciation is rather off.

So Mich, don't blog about that dire mistake I made. Its the scripting error from IE lah, I swear.

229 days +/- to ORD. Feeling a little warm and fuzzy about it. Time has indeed passsed rather quickly.

I thought it would rain last night. There was thunder and lightning. Apparently, only the trailers no full movie. Sigh. Was so looking forward to have a good read of Emma while the storm plays out. What a disappointment.

People have often commented that I am a very forgetful person and hell, I think its so true. I can take food orders, only to return to office after my half hour break empty handed and facing bemused officers with empty stomachs. Twice this week I have reminded myself to take my wallet out when I go for classes yet on both occasions, I didnt. Made a mental note on the bus to Orchard to get styling clay yet happily forgot about the impending purchase and just went to school.

Therefore, I have decided to be a little more proactive in my life. Get a cheap little PDA to get organised, to keep all my contacts should I lose my handphone again and to make crappy notes to complement my crappy memory.

Oh yea, and to make the bed straightaway after I wake up each morning.

Final note, I hope Shamantha does her job. I so wanna play badminton on Saturday.

cruel time kindly stops and waits,
as i look at you,

[ music | Quando, Quando, Quando -- Michael Buble ]

A nice slow, cooling end to a good week and excellent weekend.

Cause parents weren't in! Yay~

Had the guys over on Friday night. Jun, Xuxian, Stanley and Xuxian's friend, Cedric, came for an all nighter mahjong session. Since I know only a little about the game of mahjong, just seat there and watched for awhile. Was on the net till about 0130 till I couldnt take it and went to bed. The guys stayed up till 0530, really siao one, haha!

Tutorial on saturday was about film studies. I was late for about an hour but heck it, tired can. At least I turned up, unlike the 3 others who didn't, hehe.

Dinner was interesting as my younger brother and I cooked 4 different kinds of chicken wings for dinner. Teriyaki, Hot & Spicy, BBQ and Shrimp paste chicken wings! Yummy yo~

Headed down to Liquids Cafe for drinks with Jun and Xuxian laters. Had a good laughing time, reminiscing about all the stupid stuff we did in secondary school. The funniest was when we talked about the time when we put a brick behind the wheel of the car of a teacher which we didn't like! Haha~ The anger on the teacher's face was the ultimate. And to make it worst for our tummies is when he used malay vulgarities(cause he is a malay) to curse the person who punked him(us!). Wahaha.

We could have owned the cafe with our laughther, except Mr Eddie Koh was there, and laughed even louder than us with his girlfriend/wifey(????). Wtf. No one does that to us.

To cap off the fab sat, my "goods" from Malaysia arrived. Yay! I so like cheap goods, dvds and games, wahaha!

Well, the parents are back. Luckily the house was swept and mopped clean in time or mom will start the hysteria of hers again.

I need a new pair of berms for school. Don't wanna use my favourite Zoo York one too often. Precioussss~

Sorry Michael Buble, not only did I get a cheap copy of your cd from Malaysia, Im gonna destroy the song Home on your album It's Time. Tough luck, dude. Im still a mini fan though, wahaha!

*sings(in deep baritone voice*: oooooh tell me when will you be mine, tell me quando quando quandooooo

Oh nice~

house [11 Sep 2005|05:22pm]
[ mood | contemplative ]
[ music | DARE -- Gorillaz ]

A lot of us Singaporeans have came to the conclusion that the people at Mediacorp have rather poor taste. They do not know how to differentiate good shows from the bad. And I am getting closer to these groups of critics as Mediacorp has failed to show House starring Hugh Laurie on Channel 5!!!

House is a medical drama series as shown on Fox in the USofA. Though a drama, it borders comedy as well, though the wit is rather dry and so maybe that's why the people at Mediacorp don't like it?

Anyway, I shall be brief and be a little shallow today, so all I can say is that House is a good show! After all, bad shows do not get 5 Emmy nominations including Best Actor for Hugh Laurie right? No? Shall tune in to AXN on cable every saturday to watch the repeat telecast of tuesday's one as the television is always used by my mom from 2200hrs to 2435hrs every weekday.

Oh yea, gonna get the vcd once its out at the local stores. Shall faithfully hit HMV to check for stock.

On other matters, certain things have been bothering me over the recent weeks. Though it has not been majorly affecting me, its rather annoying as I can't get it out from the back of my head. And I thought Mr Darcy from P&P had it easy as he's from the Victorian (ok..Elizabeth B is one tough cookie lah).

Nevertheless, a relatively decent week has passed and a very good one peeks out over the horizon. BBQ and mahjong at my place this weekend, as my parents are not in town, muahaha! Bring on the beers, cheers, wine, food and money(not for me as I can't play mahjong) and fun!

wake me up when september ends

A good week is capped off with a bout of frustration.

I don't think I will organise anything in the near future.

Even if their reasons are valid, just let me bitch. Was rather looking forward to the whole thing and poof, it all disappears at the very last minute. Sometimes it isnt more about the money but the commitment and perhaps, effort.

Too badminton is not a solo sport.

[ music | Million Voices -- Wyclef Jean on the Hotel Rwanda OST ]

What a friday~!

The day passed by very quickly in the office, though there was quite a number of work. Finished them flawlessly, I think, since there were no complaints from that officer.

Headed down to school for tutorials. Did the tutorial on High and Low Culture. Gained interesting insights on what kinda shows, acts, plays and even songs are deemed as "High" or "Low" Culture. Heh, Britney Spears is indeed trailer trash.

Didnt stay for the second part of the tutorial, left at 2045hrs as I was meeting Stan and Xuxian for the movie, The Longest Yard @ Plaza Singapura.

Well well, it was well worth the $10. It is soooooo freaking happy, slapstick at its best. Cheeseburger Man was damn cool, the actor playing him can really dance. Its the same black guy who did the funky whistle and lightsticks dance in White Chicks. The film also featured some wrestling stars like Stone Cold, Kevin Nash and boy, did their characters have a really interesting twist to their wrestling personas, haha! There were hints of a witty script too and the usual emotive and suspense plot. But its the comedic areas that really stands out and one really has to expect nothing but the best from Adam Sandler.

Definitely one of the bestest comedies for the year so far. And Im gonna get the soundtrack too, ahah!

Badminton tomorrow. Kinda disappointed, as Doris cant play due to her hamster developing a tumour and she has bring it to a vet. Hope that little creature will be fine. See Doris, I can be compassionate also ok. This time I didnt call the hamster a rat, as per normal.

So it will only be the 3 of us: Cedric, Jac and Me. Warrao..I booked two hours somemore. Hope Jac drags her bf along, so hopefully it would be more fun.

I really hope the Singapore Sports Council enjoys my donation of $14.80 to them. [Updated as of 10/09/05, 1010hrs.)

Kids, pets are for you only if you are responsible(like Doris), rich(not a lot like Doris) and are damn free(like me). If not, you are better off caring for the sick, hungry and poor. Its not worth going to jail at the hands of the SPCA. Another wonderful "Hao Gong Ming" advice from your neighbourhood Uncle Yeo.

Back from soccer with the guys. Had a good game in defence today, felt unsually quirky and most strangely of all, quick! Wahaha!

I think its good to let out all of the bad feelings inside me through sports. See kids, don't take drugs. Don't engage in promiscous sexual activities. Follow Uncle Yeo and play soccer, badminton or rugby.

Too bad it rained on this parade, if not we could have played till 1330hrs, instead of 1200hrs today.

Fishball noodles was the order for lunch and it was pretty inadequate for me. So Stanley, Chongming and I went hunting for more food. Ended with bread from Four Leaves and sushi from Fiesta. Yummy handrolls of mine...keeps me wanting me for more.

Therefore, I want to eat sushi, loads and loads of sushi. Gotta find someone who appreciates nice food and go japanese this time!

Japanese rice and seaweed just goes soooo well. California sushi especially, with all the avocados and whatever that is inside.

On other matters, Im contemplating going backpacking this December. You know, just to exploit my miserable budget and indulge the I-Want-To-Be-Free spirit in me. Definitely going to some nearby english speaking country, just abhor the idea of miscommunicating with locals who do not speak english. So the most obvious choices are... Auzzieland and New Zealand. Shall make the decision in awhile, after all, I got like erm.. 2 months to Dec...right, no??

sheng mian (the cup noodles) [31 Aug 2005|11:35pm]
Endured a torrid day at the office. It all turned so busy after lunch when after a simple phone call from her colleague, my officer told my friends and I to churn out various organisational charts and other classified numbers of various airforce units.

I hate dealing with numbers, especially numbers, together with words of font size 9. Makes for terrible reading and massive migraines. So I didnt really check the organisational charts and just handed it to her after a quick glance, thinking it was fine and dandy. Guess what? After checking, there were mistakes, so ok. Im cool with that, my fault. Then the officer had to say the following(translated from chinese): "That Bryan, very dangerous, input wrong figures, don't know can trust or not!"

Like helloooooo, reprimand me for being careless, ok lor. Insult my intergrity, that was a major low blow. Felt peeved instantly and the rest of the day just sucked. I think I have decent reasons to be angry, even though the fact that I did not check the work beforehand. Firstly, I don't like numbers but since Im serving under her, do lah. Secondly, the reason why Im serving under her, is because of NS. Its not something which I willingly signed up for. Thirdly, it has already been 1 year, close to 8 months since I have worked under her. Not as if Im some newbie that you really can't trust. So bloody appreciate that Im doing work for you, for almost free! like 80cents an hour ok!! If it was my job, which I chose for a living, I will check the work throughly, even for STD! WTF man!!!!!!!

Totally wrong end to the day. I even skipped the second half of my night classes, made some shitty excuse that I had to return to camp.

I guess I really need someone to talk to right now. Its one of those really rare moments when I feel totally deflated(its no easy feeling to achieve, considering my lardy body but anyway...) and...sigh. All I have right now and most probably in the future, is a stonewall of silence.

Gonna seek solace in St Etienne.

i need you

I should not have taken up a degree in literature. Rather a degree in pyschology would be better. It can enhance my image of Uncle Agony. And no, its not because of ***** Im saying this now..but also because of past and past and ancient times ago.

Considering that Im pretty good at listening and dishing out semi decent advice, I should be having a stable relationship right? Noooooooo, I don't even have a relationship now. It was leme see...er..5 years back since the last one? Anyway I know the only three reasons why Im not in a relationship now and they are as follows: Short, Fat, Ugly.

And theyare reasons that have been flogged to death, over and over again.

Certain things have been irritating me at the office. About an officer and a fellow NSF. Shan't say much bout the NSF as I have pretty much decided to discount him from my concerns a long while ago. But the officer, I pity him lah. Cause the organization doesn't give him much of a chance. Still, he should can the notion that being officer means being more human than I am. At times when he does that...wah lau..cannot tahan.

Recently discovered the want to play badminton again. Had a good two hours playing badminton with Hengka, Xuxian, Junjie, Stan and Kaijie at Woodlands Sports Hall. Pretty glad the touch is still there.

Will be touching on my schoolwork over the weekend as I have done zero studying for the week. Plus the fact there were no lectures for this week...hmm.

Eyeing a second hand Palm Zire 72 on yahoo auctions. Basic, cheap and comes with a camera. Pretty nifty! Time to get organised, once and for all. I figure a Palm can help me loads, especially when I can forget things very easily.

Time to watch dvds on the newly refurbished comp.

you would understand, if only i would say

momo [13 Aug 2005|06:11pm]
After months of inactivity, I went clubbing last night. From a grand total of 18 people who confirmed their attendance with me, about 12 turned up. Not too shabby after all.

So we decided on Club Momo this time round, since its rather new. Managed to get in before the free entry thingy closed at 2200hrs. And noo, my IC wasn't checked, unlike some others in the queue ahead of me. Kinda lucky on that aspect as Im about 6 months below the age limit of 21yrs.

Ok, on the club. Interior wise, its pretty decent. 3 seperate areas, 1 for pubbing/snookering/watching sports, 1 for the VIPs and members and of course, the main dance area. I thought the VIP area could have been better located somewhere else. Made the passageways rather cramped once the crowd filled up.

Shan't say much about the crowd cause its always the same kinda people one will see in clubs. The music...well, not very impressive. Perhaps the DJs were off colour or plain lazy, the beats and groove were rather lacking and all about the same. A rather mixed musical direction the DJs took, a blend of hiphop rnb and top 40s with house beats. Ben, Mavis, Sze Chuan and I took to the dancefloor nontheless while Carine, Gary and Gloria just took the laid back apporach. I danced with a couple of ladies as well...so can't complain much lah thereafter.

We left at 01++hrs for Madam Wong's as the music simpy sucked after 0100am. Met up with Zen, Nicholas, Lilian and Jervais too. Wong's was strangely uncrowded for the night...the effect of Club Momo perhaps? Anyway, we knocked back a bottle of Black Label and other assorted drinks, skipped the main dance floor for the RnB room instead. The crowd at the RnB room was pathetic as no one was dancing. Nevertheless we danced and I think the DJ appreciated it, haha! As Mavis would say, its all in the mind. Philosphical, for an ah lian like her, hah!

Left at closing time, with good spirits and perhaps with a little light-headed feel. We promised to get together again in 3 weeks time for MAMBO NIGHT!!

A good night of fun and enjoyment, today's a day to bumand ride out the tiredness. Tomorrow's when the serious stuff starts. Tutorials and homework are up for marking, so I gotta get down and dirty with them.

Soon.

you're beautiful [09 Aug 2005|10:31am]
270++ more days to ORD. Too lazy to count the exact number but sure as hell looking forward to THE day.

Have I mentioned Im a CPL now. The rank doesn't mean much to me, in fact, almost worthless save for the fact its a milestone, an indicator I have roughly 9 more months left. However, the increase of $30 is a big increment, no matter how small it is worth. Somethings can't be taken at face value.

Finally APD has her first Sports Day in 6 months. We went down to JSOM, some played badminton, others went running or gymming. I chose badminton for the most obvious reasons, cause Im pretty ok at it. And that I can't run to save my life. I mean short sprints Im fine by it but long runs...doesn't even cross my mind.

Had some good games at badminton. I seriously need a new racquet though. Played much better with Ben's racquet than my $15 dollar one from World of Sports, wahhaha. Wee Yan is a notch above us all, his strokes and wrist play is simply awesome. Little wonder, since he played for his secondary school and poly.

Was pretty glad he didn't thrash me lah.

Going out this afternoon, thus I have drawn up a shopping list. A new, non-cheapass-but-not-terribly-expensive badminton racquet. A new pair of sports shorts and socks and perhaps, more bloody ram for the computer. Sigh..FM 2005 runs rather slowly.

Dinner with Doris and Meibao later at Marina Square. Hope to catch fireworks too, since the National Day Parade is at the Padang. Its not too far away, maybe can see lah hor..*crosses fingers*. I do not know why, as I age (Im 20 this yr..argh!), I realised I damn 'gian' the stuff I enjoyed throughly as a kid. Or maybe everyone just 'gians' fireworks.

Don't know but...fireworks are kinda romantic in some sort of way.

[Update at 2305hrs: Watched the fireworks at Marina Square! So so very nice. First we heard the booms at Royal Sporting House, then Doris, Meibao, Pei and I rushed out to catch the fireworks. So did other people from other shops, haha! Can imagine how the staff feel? Anyway, the fireworks were great but rather short. I felt really exhilirated, to the point tingles run across my body, haha. Lovely, the fireworks and the effects are. End of update]

Been hearing too much of James Blunt's You're Beautiful. I like it a lot...mmm.

Guess it has a haunting resonance that speaks a lot.

Your Ideal Relationship is Casual Dating

Maybe you're looking for love...
But mostly you're looking for fun.
You could get serious with the right person.
For now, though, you're enjoying playing the field.

I don't play the field...

Your Hidden Talent
You are a great communicator. You have a real way with words.
You're never at a loss to explain what you mean or how you feel.
People find it easy to empathize with you, no matter what your situation.
When you're up, you make everyone happy. But when you're down, everyone suffers.
