4:12p - her glimmering smile takes my breath away
as not many people know, I have been having second thoughts about the whole drum corp thing. in the long term, i'm going to be giving up several weekends during school and missing a few fridays, as well as giving up 3 entire months of my summer. big sacrifices, i know. but i think... (keyword:) think it would be worth it. now talking about the short term. the cadets 2nd audition camp is this weekend. so is the mens ensemble tour in baltimore. i was originally going to bus myself down there, and then over to baltimore to meet the mens ensemble. thats a lot of hassle, and a lot of money. so blah. i emailed them a few days ago concerning my situation. now they're saying i could just go to the january camp. hopefully this means i can audition in january. if so, my chances of getting in the corp are decreased, however i will be able to enjoy my weekend with the mens ensemble. i'm not really even sure if corp life is for me... i mean (geek alert) i love to march more than anything, and its one of my life goals to be in a corp. so i'm definately going to march sometime. hopefully this summer, but who knows. theres still the bluecoats who i'm trying to set up an appointment with. my friend andy from college got turned down from the cavaliers, and he's easily the best percussionist i know. he didnt even get asked to come to the 2nd camp. that shows how difficult it is to get into these corps. of course cavaliers are at the top of the pecking order on this side of the country, and their drumline holds the most coveted spots, but he was cut in the first round. that sucks.
in other news, we practiced with our new 15 year old drummer. he's pretty good. we rock. maybe we can play a show by like the end of this month. oh and i have a choir concert tonight. how gay.
