4:25p - a black guy named walter fixed my headlight
i'm home already. i woke up thanksgiving with a moderately annoying nasal head cold, and it only got worse. the ride to wisconsin was hell, but thanks to erin it was enjoyable. camp started friday at 6. i borrowed one of their marching euphoniums, which is like twice as heavy as a marching baritone. you know how when you're sick, you're not as strong as you usually are? yeah bad choice. so i had shaky arms alot, it was bad. but the main thing that bothered me about the camp was the attitude of the directors. theres a big differenence between the YEA-run cadets and the phantom regiment. theres no positive reinforcement at the regiment. and theres not many breaks. holding up the horn at 10 degrees all the time. and you run laps if you're late to practice. anyway, i decided to go the second day and see what happened. things only got worse. we left wisconsin at about 11 am on saturday. theres this lingering feeling that i'm a failure, but i'm really not. the regiment just isnt what i was looking for in a corp. i didnt even audition. combing their boot-camp camps with the 9 hour drive just doesnt really seem feasible. i couldnt really see myself marching with them. and thats the bottom line. i'm just going to try that much harder to get into the cadets, and hopefully i recover from my cold before then. i have 2 weeks.
in other news, we stopped at a cool mall on the way back in mishiwaka, indiana. i got the final fantasy vii soundtrack for a steep near $60 bucks. but i figured what the hey, theres no shipping charges, and no wait. i wanted to listen to it on the way home. the music in that game means so much to me. i also picked up the new hatebreed cd, the rise of brutality. stupid name, but its quite good so far. i also bought xenosaga: episode i for ps2, because i had a coupon for 5 bucks off a best buy game. i'm not even going to play until i re-buy xenogears and beat it. so that will be a while.
also.... i bought animal crossing for the gamecube. this game is freaking amazing, and will take me years to explain why. plus i bet no one really cares anyway. lets just say i'm addicted to it, but i have to wait until 6 tonight until i can do anything with it again. because all of my neighbors in the game are gone to a fishing tourney. ha.
