It's quite incredible that out of millions of livejournals, I am one of only four users that list it the radio serial "Journey into space" as an interest. I like to think that this occurence makes me at least slightly unique. In fact, more than just having that listed does. I'm just sayin'.

Journey into space rocks! Check it out! I implore you! All of you! It's the greatest radio science fiction drama ever!

In 1953 it was first aired. Charles Chilton, a brilliant writer and producer, wrote this series and recruited many luminaries, including politician Andrew Faulds, Jewish actor David Kossoff (My personal facourite), amongst others. I find it fascinating to read about these blokes, because although some of them are dead, some of them are still kicking and alive, and show no signs of stopping. As someone who is frightened of age and death, I find it heartening to know that Mr Chilton, born in nineteen seventeen, is ninety one. Ninety one! David Jacobs (Who my mum once talked to and everything) is in his eighties. Andrew Faulds who played Jet is gone, but fought for civil rights!

I first listened to this series when my dad got some tapes in about 1990. I would listen to them when I got home from school. It distracted me from the miserable existence of education and I loved every second. When Jet, Lemmy, Mitch and Doc landed on a planet like earth, thousands of miles from home, my imagination was ignited. I heard the World in Peril, and the Red Planet. Brilliant.

Anyway. Only two more to go. I'm nearly done. Saturday night is over. No more evening shifts for two weeks. That feels mighty good.

Rebooting the router is taking twenty minutes of pissing about now. Constantly prodding the power button, unplugging it. Ridiculous. Soon it will be time to buy a new one.

I may be away for a weekend in July. I don't know yet. Keep you posted, yeah?

One more shift until holiday time.

"They've all got one. Vaginas. She's got one. She's got one. She's got one. She's definately got one."

This is from Peep show series 5, episode 2. Look it up on Youtube. Embedding disabled. It's brilliant. So look for it.
