Tonight was a nice night to get over with. Work was not nearly as bad as it could have been. Yes, the big table was booked at nine. It was late, too. But everything appeared to go like a particularly smooth working of a clock. Who'da thunk it, eh? I love you all! One day to go, and then the big day.
I'm tellin' ya, i'm very happy today is over. It was promising to be hell. I woke up tired, I had no real time to lie and relax, I slogged, I burned and I nearly went out.
And Christmas day will be nothing compared to that. It's not even going to touch the trudging chore of today. For a start, it's a one shifter. And when i'm done, i'll be getting tanked. Cheers.

I've been watching the life story of C.S Lewis on BBC2. It's a beautiful, rewarding program, and is so heartbreaking in places it's making me tear up.
But it is a remarkable story of faith, growing up, belief, grief, love and storytelling.
At one point he says "I knew I needed to write The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe, or burst in the attempt."
And I thought, yeah, that's just like me, except when I drink too much Murphys. I must shit this lot out this morning, or burst in the attempt. I think his sounded better. Trust me to lower the tone, eh?
But this is to take nothing away from the program at all. It's brilliant.
