You would be forgiven for thinking that Minster holds any real delight for me at this present time. Because it simply does really not, bar a few bursts of drinking and merriment. In the case of last night, happiness and weariness had a fistfight, and neither really won out.

Work was the same messy nightmare it had been in the afteroon, though my battle for singer supremacy of the kitchen with young Kelly - my assistant - was entertaining enough. She sings like a yodelling sort of drunken charwoman. Funny girl, though. At any rate, the work seriously got to me, nothing was done early enough, and the place looked like shit. In the end I managed to tear a chunk of skin from my fucking palm with the end of a metal broom, and as the crimson deepend on my hand, I closed my eyes and wanted to be the fuck away from there. No tears...just tiredness of the soul. I have more work today, and frankly, it's really crushing me this week.

Came out of this menial hell, into the hubbub and Guiness paradise of the post work bar, where Sue poured me two more, as by now it was time. Bolby appeared and we chatted about essays...good feelings...good moods now..Stoney followed and I was with friends again...happy. We drifted over to some new folks...and Stuart....people i'd never met..two Aussies.....and a strange bald chap who looked constantly surprised..at everything ever.

We all clattered out of the pub, stopping outside to gasp at the moon..

"LOOK! The moon's got an aura!" shouted Stoney...and we gaped...there it was...in a sky pitched in clouds..a huge...wispy cookie cutter framing...and the moon dead centre...like some sort of celestial tit.

Amazing, I don't think i've ever seen anything like it. Or I think God's getting a bit crude...pointing at it...laughing....going..."Heh...guess what this looks like..", us all saying "Yeah...mate....we can see that"

Head up the New Inn with a squealing Bolb, and there we all were for the rest of the night, shouting a lot and the surprised bloke getting more and more aghast, astonished, blown away, loud and shocked by everything. Churches...small....what? I simply kept yelling at Stoney as he did the Stoney Smoking Stage...which I find provokingly amusing. And then...it was over...headed home thinking of another....who I would have liked there...but in a lot of ways..she was....

Yawning and racking stretches are beyond belief this morning. I hate not being in control of what happens in my body. It's like a car that's driving itself.

Fucking cunt.

Anyway, yes...work....shoving it's dirty unkempt frame into my sight...how dare it....and it's Sunday lunch..which is even worse. A confirmed pain in the arse shift and no mistake. It's almost never quiet, easy, short, or anything you could even consider comforting.

I need feet up on the wooden desk shelf, and IM. That seems so far away at this point.

A real relaxation lunchtime, after the king sized wanker of a weeked i've been having at work. A mere forty three passed through, and were no sweat to Lisa and I. A game of Secret Santa has been imposed..meaning we buy things for each other at Xmas. Interesting concept, perhaps a chortle. I have my pick, and it's somebody I get on with so that makes it easier.

Lots to shop for, then. I should get some cash out of Aleks. I rather like the thought of shopping...going around Canterbury...being jostled by the souless mass...sniggering at battery run kid's toys. Buying people things...with genuine thought for once.

Perhaps Wednesday. For now...more BEAN ACTION (Copyright Suz 2004)
