    Death: The Final Destination?

Life, it is said, can be termed as a "journey from the cradle to the grave". While traversing through the terrain of life, we encounter numerous events of significance taking place, where our journey halts for a brief moment and then we again move on in search of something else. But what is it that we are searching for, what is it that prompts us to move forward, why is it that we refuse to sit down in the shadows of our achievements and enjoy its pleasant shade. Do we know the direction in which to move to reach the El Dorado of our dreams where our journey can come to an end ? or are we just floating on the tide of time unmindful of the direction in which it is taking us. Throughout our entire life we pass through the pleasant crests and the not so pleasant troughs until finally we end up as dead. But has death really brought the journey to an end?

If death really is destination of life, then why did we not seek it as soon as we became aware of it, when we have the ideas and means at our disposal to end our life and court death.

Death is not the final destination of life. It is in fact an unsourmountable abyss into which we fall, it is a wall so high that we are not able to scale it and see what is there on the other side. It is an obstacle which has halted our journey. The day we are able to scale this wall, the day we are able to come out of this abyss, we will be able to see new landscapes, set up new landmarks, and may be reach the El Dorado that we seek. But until that happens, and it will, we have to consider death, though reluctantly, as the culmination of life.
