    Time Event
    11:51p
    Obedience, or sacrifice?
Sometimes, I read the bible until I get blur. Often times we hear pple quoting, "God does not desire sacrifice, He is looking for obedience". Then you hear another say, "When you make that sacrifice, God sees, and God moves".

So what do we do? Obey? Or sacrifice?

Actually, many times I find myself in a situation where to obey Him, I need to make a sacrifice.

And thank God for the bible, for I found a verse that was deeply encouraging.

Do not grow weary in doing good.

Be it financial obedience, actual serving in a legalistic ministry, loving God and loving people, all His commandments require some form of sacrifice to obey. When we're stretched too thin, we tend to just throw in the towel, make a 180 degree turn, and bid farewell to all.

Which is why I think Jesus said, "Faith, hope and love, the greatest of all being love".

Love encourages. Love edifies. Love brings people together. And many times, love is just that last straw you need to keep afloat.

Let us never grow tired of loving one another, to encourage each other, and to really hold them up when the waves crash them down.

    Current Mood: relaxed
