    Of wedges and slices
Well, I stubbornly argued that the heels that looks flat (as opposed to pointy stilettoes) are called wedges. But now I understand, never argue with a teacher... coz a teacher's always (almost) right! So we were in a rushed discussion at the gate of dby ght mrt about what the full heels (aka wedge) is called, and i happily termed it SLICE. but hey.... names are always arbitrary ya? and poki, nope, it's not MARY.

So I've met up with my favourite teacher today, and bumped into Yann at the mrt, who's waiting for Dawna. Very nice to see gainfully unemployed people around, but teacher termed us professional bummers, the title which i quite like.

Cartel is so nice with its new sofas... though it makes leaving the table hard (think squiggling out) to get water, bread and to pee. So much so that we spent abt 4 hours there, watching the world go by in the rainy afternoon.

And so, at 5+, I got hungry, and dragged her to NuBar for dinner. Although she isn't hungry, she's still my professional foodie friend, and so we ordered a main dish each, and shared a plate of mini springrolls, which isn't a good choice after all, for i had plenty of those in Thailand. *sniggerS*

Following dinner, I went off to JE to meet up with 5 chiobus to attend a wake. Curry, kong ba bao, lotsa peanuts and sweetened drinks await. I'm so full, round, and ready to go to bed.

I'm really going gym on friday... and hey.. it's Planet Fitness @ Suntec!

Meanwhile, Harry Potter, Pasta Mania and CG (aka battery) fellowship outing awaits tomorrow!

    I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo busy.

    Imagine waking up to...
A plasticbag-wrapped muffin on a plate, with a fork, and a note that reads:

A hot banana walnut muffin for you to start your birthday!
    1) Unwrap muffin from plastic bag and place on plate and put into microwave.
    2) Press 30 seconds on microwave and start.
    3) Serve hot with fork!
    - Happy Birthday!-

Let's all sing Happy Bdae Song to my dearest, sweetest, gentlest jie jie! *grin*

Watching with Harry Potter fans vs with the fan of the new director
And so I happily went in with the latter. There I was, with full knowledge of the books on HP, and knowing my movie date has only watched the first installation when it was screened on TV earlier this week. But she's beaming with expectation, for she can't wait to see what the critically acclaimed director has to offer in Harry Potter 3.

And gosh! The only Quidditch scene was in the rain, highlighting Harry's fall from a 100 feet. And what's with showing Hermione and Ron acting like budding lovers? For people who read it, it's a real disaster.

Not for my date. Right from scene one, she gushed "oh, look the camera's not still - that's sooooooooooo HIM!" and similar comments until the part on the confrontation where Sirius and Lupin threatened to kill Harry. She's lost.

    Embarrassingly, I was lost too.

Ok I admit. Much a fan as I was (ok, not the HARD HARD fan, but more fan of it than eeeeeks LOTR), I've forgotten some details. Like the confrontation scene. Hmmm......

Anyhow, it's really weird that it's the 2nd movie this week I watched with pesky kids. I sooooooooooo dislike school holidays. Glad term's starting and I'll have all the streets, movie theatres and restaurants to myself - and my dear fellow gainfully unemployed friends.

And now, off to Battery Night I go!
