if anyone is considering seeing the village, dont.(yes i am going to explain it and ruin it, so if you still wanna see it, go away. jk, but u might not wanna read this.) it was such a disappointment. not scary at all..i jumped twice but it was a surprise..not scary at all. it was a little funny..because there was some fuzzy thing on the screen..whether it was supposed to be there or not, idk..and because adrien brody's character was the comic relief, but there wasnt really anything to be relieved of. it did have its twists like other m night shymalan movies, and they were unpredictable, but once they happened, it was pointless..stupid. the stuff you might have heard about it, like that it was set in the 1800s, thats a lie. its in modern times, the villagers are just amish....ish. whats in the woods? porcupine like people that are really made up...village elders dressed up to keep the kids from fleeing their "utopia". so basically, the whole thing goes like this.
little amish people live next to these woods, scared to death of whats in there. one guy wans to go in to the towns to bring back medicine. so he goes in a little bit. then theres an attack of the porcupine people. the guy falls in love w/the blind girl(they randomly decide to get married..)and then the crzy guy stabs the engaged guy. so blind girl wants to go to the town and get medicine to save her fiance. and shes allowed to because shes blind and wont recognize whats in the city...mainly, the real world. yeah...the elders were a group of grief counselors in the city and they all lost a family member to violent crimes so the left and created theire own little place. then they created the story about whats in the woods so that no one would go out there into the city. and they made costumes and stuff just to add to it. except they didnt think to get medicine for their utopia, so that ruins their plan. if you dont want your people to go in the city, bt you need medicine to live...why wouldnt you have medicine with you?! so it was stupid and it sucked.
