hey guys! i know there are only 4 people in this community including myself, but i'm hoping the three of you can help me out with something! here's something i posted on the MBR boards [if you're on them you can recognize me as sPEECHLESSaTbEST629], so don't mind when i talk about replying to that post and keeping the thread alive and stuff like that. but please read this and get back to me if you want the guys of MBR to know you exist! ;)
"hey everyone! as some of you may have previously read in the "thanks matchbook" thread, i'm putting together a matchbook romance scrapbook from the fans to the guys, and in order for it to work out and be completely awesome, i need your help!
i need you guys to send in letters to the band, a snapshot of yourself, pictures of you with the band, live pictures you've taken of the band, and/or other stuff relating to MBR!
each fan that sends in their submissions can have anywhere up to the front and back of a page with information. each fan will have his or her own page containing an introduction [their name, location, email, message board name, age, a picture of them if they choose to send one in, and then a survey with favourite MBR song, favourite MBR lyric, etc.] and their letter or message to the band, which will all be surrounded with their live pictures or pictures with the band scattered around the page. there will be polls such as "what bands would you like to see matchbook romance tour with?" that will be featured in a polls page or section, following the fan pages. if you have any ideas for what else to put in it, let me know!
so, wondering what to write in the letter? whatever you want, as long as it's not like "i hate you motherf*ckers." if that's what you wanted to say, i don't know why you would be on this board in the first place. in your letter, you can tell them what their music means to you, how awesome you think they are live, how you can relate to a certain song they wrote, what you think of them in general, how they inspire you, etc. hell, you can tell them a joke. it's all good. but the point of the scrapbook is to make them realize how much their fans truly appreciate them as musicians and as people, so keep that in mind when writing your letter. and remember, feel free to write a pretty long letter, but not long enough so that it's going to take up a lot of space. i'm trying to make it the front and back of a page for each fan.
now, you need to know how to get the letters to me. send them to me, sarah, konstantinex1022@aol.com. before you send them, try to make sure they're in the exact words and spelling that you want them to be in. that way, i just have to copy and paste and format them to whatever the design ends up being.
i'm not sure exactly what will be in the survey, yet, so i can't have you guys fill that out. i need some ideas, so if you have any ideas for survey questions, please post them in this board, email me, or feel free to IM me [konstantinex1022] anytime.
so, when am i planning on giving this to them - is that what you're thinking? maybe not, but i'll let you know anyway. i'm going to give it to them at warped tour [hopefully they'll come to chicago or indianapolis], on the second half of the tour, so that gives you all plenty of time to submit things. you have this whole tour with mest to meet the guys, take live pictures, etc. i'm not setting a deadline yet, but hopefully i'll have things in by june so i have time to make all the final adjustments and actually put the scrapbook together.
well, that's all i have to say on the subject for now. i have to ask you guys to please participate. if we got a lot of fans to submit, it would be a great book for the band to look back on from time to time and realize the impact they have on their fans. so any questions, comments, or ideas, reply in this thread, email me, or IM me. keep posting in this thread to keep it alive so that people continue to check it out, and spread the word to any MBR fans you know! thanks so much!"
