welcome back, welcome back my naughty little monkeys friday night we (as in Jennifer, me, Josh and Becca) went to the Showboat for karaoke. in a way it was a mistake but then in a way it became a blessing. mistake? nothing changes there, tourists being their dumb drunken selves with a few locals i know in there. Blessing? Josh and I (along with Tim later that night) all got offered jobs at the showboat. they lost 2 of their doormen and since the owner knows me, he offered us the job for 4 nights a week, some nights helping big mike and other nights just us working the doors.
so basicly (and Jennifer seems to like the showboat best of all the places we've gone..something in a way I wasn't hoping for) we're the new doormen there from thursdays thru sunday nights. we get paid (and actually get paid pretty well, lol) get most of our drinks free and I still can go up and sing my tunes. It does and has put a hamper on my current job because I have to leave the restaraunt earlier but...ya know, worse case scenerio i'll take the doorman job.
where we usually sit anyway at the showboat I usually am against a wall by the restrooms so as one of the owners said "You already look like a security guy so why not pay you to actually be a security guy". So Josh was at one door Tim who came in later was with Mike at the front door and I was where I usually am at anyway.the owner had asked josh about this earlier friday night when he came in there, josh actually told me he said "Talking Bill into it may take some doing, he likes to sing songs here and is limited because of the format here". That was changed immediately so i can sing whatever I want there. the format got changed alittle more when Jennifer put in a card for "Don't You Need" by melissa ethridge. usually they don't allow that song (it's not a "faster" song but I told the dj, "Let her sing what she wants and I bet you, she'll have em eating out of her hand". he took the chance and jennifer came thru. she did it again an hour later when she did her fave fleetwood mac song. so the format's been "leaned" a bit, lol.
my boss at the restaraunt doesn't like the fact I took the doorman job but it's alot easier, may not pay as much per hour but it's very workable. toss fuckers out if they get to out of control, I like that, LOL! so if i lose the restaraunt gig, so be it. I'll dig just working 4 days and having three off if it comes to that.
saturday night the boss at the restaraunt and I had words, I know he doesn't like the fact I took the doorman gig but as i told him "it's my life and since I don't work day shift here, where's the problem at"? He didn't like hearing that because it was true, he walked away and the whole tone of the night with everyone changed, because I pretty much got my point across and didn't back down from it.
after work Jennifer and i went to the showboat. I had brought up the subject about me taking the doorman gig with her and she thought it was a good idea I take the gig, even if the restaraunt thing falls thru. I get paid good money to watch drunks, drink free and sing songs(they have karaoke friday and saturday nights, bands on thursday and sunday nights). An announcement was made when I went up to do "The devil went down to georgia". "Bill, who's part of the new security team here at the showboat, it's your turn".after i did the song i went back to my spot, then walked around the bar to check on josh and tim. all of us wearing our Four Horsemen M.C. shirts have made the impression. nobody got really out of hand, no fights. it was a good weekend. even jim, a guy who owns a gentleman's club here in the area came in. I know him thru another place. he saw me and wound up buying drinks for me all night. I asked the owner of showboat if it was ok and he said "I know how you drink Bill, someone really has to piss you off before you go off so I'm not worried, jim's buying them then go ahead and drink them". Jim was with one of his new girls that dances at his club. wow was all i could say. Jennifer herself has been looking exceptionally hot lately too. watching guys try to hit on her and see how she quickly shoots them down is pretty funny. it never gets old for me to keep seeing guys line up so they can get rejected.
bartime came and we got everyone out. helped with the clean up. had a final drink and then we all piled over to my place til daylight.
Sunday I worked at the restaraunt and i have a feeling I won't be there much longer, oh well, if that's the case I can stick with the gig working the door. Jennifer even said she wants to find a different job too because some at the restaraunt have brought up my situation to her, and because she sides with me, they're treating her like crap too. fuck em if that's how they wanna be.
sunday night at the showboat they had a live band, would've rather listened to the jukebox because the music on the jukebox in between sets was better than the band, lol.showboat does have a thing called a "rehab party", 5 bottles of corona(or corona lite) for 10 bucks. Something about a bar/club having a "rehab party" I just find very funny.
sundays are pretty cool, most of the weekend tourists are gone back to wherever they came from and the ones that were there, weren't doing the outragous crap you usually see on friday and saturday nights. jennifer was ruling over one of the pool tables. if she was playing for money she would've walked out with a purse full. her and I had some "quality time" after bartime.
her and I are off today so we'll be hooking up later and I have a feeling by the email she handed me that more "quality time" will be coming, lol. I'm not gonna complain, would you?
