this song came on at work earlier tonight i'll have a more detailed update up sometime tomarrow but i wanted to mention this. we had a busy night with 2 busloads of people (60 each each all reserved with a particular prepared meal). so it was a bit hectic since the dish fucker was being problematic, the busser was whining(she's from poland and never had a job before). so in the midst of doing many jobs besides my own, it wasn't a great night.
right after the busloads left. the following song came on the satellite radio station that plays in the restaraunt. when it started I dropped everything and went over to jennifer, who was preparing soup for the soup and salad bar. she smiled as she remembered me singing this the other night at karaoke. we wound up singing it to each other. everyone in the kitchen, including my bosses(the owners) and a waitress, came back and watched as we sang this to each other.
when the song ended. everyone who watched clapped loudly. it's gotten around the restaraunt that jennifer and i are doing something together but it was one of them moments, that we all needed to ease the stress of it being hectic. it was the first time i really ecided to sing something out loud instead of just mumbling it and she went right along with it. we all needed that moment to regroup and i guess seeing us two sing to each other was the thing tonight.
Every Day (by stevie knicks)
Don't keep me hangin' on a string
Tell me what I feel is no big thing
Don't turn away I'm listening
Over and over again
Don't give me visions to explain
There are no doubts I feel the strain
Of all my senses yearning
Over and over again
[Chorus:]
Every day I see you
Every day I need you
Every way I breathe you
On and on and on and on again
It's not important to wonder why
What is just is no more to imply
This simple thought repeating
Over and over again
[Chorus]
Imagine all the ways to cope
I close my eyes, that gives me hope
It cures the silence
[Chorus]
