    Unjust, Unfair And Discrimiminatory
It's not often that I wake up to a really good piece of news but this morning I did. It seems that Candice Lightner's reign of terror might be ending sooner rather than later. Finally. Just in case you don't know who she is, Candace is the maniacal control freak founder of MADD and the poster child for People Against Insane Parents Being Allowed To Run The World.

And now for the good news:

College presidents seek drinking age debate
They are calling on lawmakers to consider moving age back to 18

RALEIGH, North Carolina - College presidents from about 100 of the best-known U.S. universities, including Duke, Dartmouth and Ohio State, are calling on lawmakers to consider lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18, saying current laws actually encourage dangerous binge drinking on campus.

The movement called the Amethyst Initiative began quietly recruiting presidents more than a year ago to provoke national debate about the U.S. drinking age, which is among the highest in the world.

"This is a law that is routinely evaded," said John McCardell, former president of Middlebury College in Vermont who started the organization. "It is a law that the people at whom it is directed believe is unjust and unfair and discriminatory."

Before I go on, let me say that if you want to be a dominating, absolute ruler, just build a dungeon, find a willing submissive (Or two or three or however many it takes) and go nuts. Have all the fun you want. But keep your personal life out of politics. And don't support and/or vote for those who don't.

All these laws and rules and regulations we have about things like drinking don't work and in fact make the problems they are are trying to solve worse. We need to start recognizing people like Candace Lightner for what they are and start rendering them powerless. We also have to clean up the messes we have allowed them to make.

I love this system we have here. What's the old carpenters' rule? Measure twice and cut once? I think that's it and it makes all kinds of sense. And we we do the opposite. We hand everyone a saw and just tell them to cut anytime and anywhere they feel like it and then we wonder why nothing ever works.
