Where: Gotham City Police Department, Homicide Division, then a small road trip
When: Monday morning
She was not happy. Not happy at all. Veronica "Ronnie" Drake, Police Chief of Gotham City did not like outside interference in police business. But, of course, she'd been ordered by the top brass to let ... Ms. Santiago ... help the department in any way she could. If she didn't like it, Peterson certainly wouldn't. Ever since the death of Charlie he worked solo. God only knew she'd tried over a half dozen times to get him a partner ... Opening her door she bellowed, "PETERSON! OFFICE! NOW!" She slammed the door behind her, waiting.
Lieutenant Peterson arched a brow from where he sat at his desk, glancing to the other detective's scattered about haphazardly around the room. As he stood, a few of his fellow detectives 'catcalled,' "oOOoh, she's got you now, Peterson!" and "Uh-oh, looks like the Lieutenant is in trouble again!" Jacob made a face at them and grinned, "Yeah, yeah. What else is new?" Smoothing his tie, he headed into Ronnie's office, arching a brow at the strange woman sitting across from his boss. He closed the door behind him and asked, "You bellowed, boss?"
"Cut the crap, Peterson and sit down." Was Ronnie's curty reply. Hm ... interesting. No wise ass remark in return. Something was up and Jake decided it was time to behave so he sat and waited. The detective glanced again at the woman before turning his attention back to Ronnie who was speaking, "You're recent promotion isn't without reason, Jake. The brass had decided to pay attention to the increase in mutant-related crime and asked me to start a task force, which I want you to head along with Ms. Santiago here. She's been sent to ... assist us in this matter."
