Every once in a while I feel the desperate urge to get out of Ahmedabad for a bit... Fresh air, I tell myself...
So this weekend Pune's the lucky place that gets to host me for a couple of days... And since it's Ganpati time, I'm looking forward to some time with my camera as well... What better place to spend visarjan than Pune...? Okay, with the possible exception of Bombay...

And since I'm going, mother decides it's my chance to be delivery boy... Transport a bunch of home-cut music CDs, a Sony discman (one in number) and a melange of 'home' stuff to my brother's girlfriend in Pune, so she, in turn, can carry it with her when she goes to visit my brother in Coventry next month...!
Obviously, my mother's never heard of the postal service or DHL Cargo...

Spanner in the works: The solitary direct train between Ahmedabad and Pune runs twice a week (only) and it's not on a Friday, or a Saturday... Therefore, a tortorously never-ending, 18 hour bus ride is on the cards... What's he cribbing about, you say...? Try fitting a 6'3" frame in one of those ergonomic disasters that pass for seats in buses these days...!

- Strolling down Lakshmi Road with my camera, looking for photo-ops
- A visit to the caves off JM Road
- Rottiserie chicken at George
- Fondue at ABC farms
- Osho chappals from Lakshmi Road (Not KP, they overprice it by 20-30 Rs there) ;)
- Catching up with Nikhil and Dhanush, over beer, after what seems like an eternity
- Meeting at least one Pune blogger while I'm there
