Meeting considerate security personnel at airports always makes my day... The officer at Mumbai airport this morning went through a lot of trouble to assure me that it was perfectly safe for me to put my loaded camera into the X-Ray machine... He also showed me the exact page in the user manual that stated, in large, friendly letters, that all Sony X-Ray machines were designed to be completely 'film-safe'...! Peachy...!!

The loaded camera in question is my spanking new NIKON F75, that's kitted out with a TAMRON 28-105 for day to day use and a slightly fancier TAMRON 70-300, with 1:2 macro at the Tele-end, for heritage walks, wildlife, macros and suchlike...!

And the weekend in Bombay was, without the slightest of doubt, one of the best I've had in a while... Eight hours of political debate in the general compartment of Gujarat Mail on friday night... Camera shopping on saturday morning... Meeting up with Roy-ness saturday afternoon... Mocha for obscenely large cups of Jamaican Blue Mountain and general discussions about heartbreak, betrayal and moving on... The Ghetto for drinks and music the same evening (tacky decor, rock music, good-ish crowd, massive amounts of fairly inexpensive fun)... Dinner at Bade Miyaan... Late night threesomes at Marine Drive with Roy-ness and YSJ... Leisurely breakfast on Sunday morning... Shopping for jeans at VAMA... Window shopping at MNG, Morgan, M&S, etc... Sleepless in Seattle on ZeeMGM over fresh, thin-crust pizzas and Kingfisher pints... More threesomes- this time at Worli Seaface... 1am coffee at Barista, Shivaji Park... Crooning along to John Denver singing 'Leaving On A Jet Plane' on the drive back from Worli... 5.15am flight back to Ahmedabad and meeting the really nice security personnel thingie in question...
Full-packed weekend...
