Indeed, I seem to have maintained sanity (hence implying I had a whole lot to begin with) with two exams down and three remaining. And the last one isn’t for two whole weeks. Weeeeee, free time. I had the most amazing coffee last night. I’ve kinda gone off coffee, as there are so few Starbucks around (read it, London has one). Vanilla cappuccinos at like 11pm. Go me. I believe that you can actually learn from TV. CSI is about the smartest show around. I’ve watched a large quantity, and it’s making me all smart. I’m also learning how the commit the perfect evidenceless crime. Minor side effect I suppose. I’ve realized that Western is a “home” university. This happens in the states too, at places like SMU and such. It’s when a huge percentage of the student body is close enough to home to go on a regular basis. Not my idea of independence when your mum does your laundry ever other weekend, but whatever works. So during the year there are key weekends when the majority of people go home, campus is eerily empty, and residences are significantly quieter (well not Brescia, that would require a vacuum to form). See me, I can’t do that. During exams, I stay. Well, I’m actually going to go to Chatham for Easter, but that’s different. I honesty can’t understand why they spread finals so much. I’d rather study like a fiend for a week or so, then do this yo-yo thing. I study a whole lot for 3 days, take an exam, waste a few days, and then study more. Very silly. Sure, student suicide probably dips a but, but its fucking boring. And it gives us way too much time to watch TV and drink. Or do stupid things like put Jesus in a Hawaiian shirt (just a random example, naturally). Righty. I think old CDs are the greatest. I’ve got only a few of my CDs here, and I picked just the right ones. We’re killing ourselves, putting in random stuff. “Jay and Jane”? “The lady is a vamp”? Night night. |
