It's been an eventful day. I was happy until I got on my gmail account to find out Gayle's mother died this morning. This far outweighs any news I have about what's going on in my life and my thoughts are with her and her family.

On my film shoot - my overall grade came to a 94%. Apparently I get stressed out really easy and am easily aggravated and actors hate that. Wouldn't you be stressed if it's your 1st and only day of shooting and you're being graded on it?

As an assistant I'm very laid back. Want to know why? B/c I don't give a shit as I'm not applying anything and just carrying an on set bag.

::sigh::

And I've worked on how many films? Maybe this is proof I shouldn't work on people. Dead people don't do anything, just lay there. Dead.

In other news: I'm going to be doing the Creature from the Black Lagoon for my over the head latex mask assignment. One of my teachers is a hard core fan, so I made him a copy of the funeral pamphlet. It's better to not do anything robotic or metallic b/c "Unless you've been to car design school, you just won't be able to achieve the look in time - it's better to do something more organic. Also the latex doesn't imitate metal well."

Stephen's had the food poisoning. He's lost anywhere from 5-10 lbs in a week vs the 5 I wanted to put on him! The 2 days spent in Tucson were spent at home watching over him and trying to help him in any way I could. We watched No Country for Old Men with Frank (who brought me syringes for Bondo) and tv with Dad before leaving Wednesday. Spent the night at Adam's and played RockBand. Stephen's amazing at drums. He plays on expert.

Thursday he still wasn't feeling well but had a big surprise for me (but before I learned about it I had to get my photos printed and sent off for the IMATS competition - even if I don't get in I'm still going). He had my mind distracted long enough from where we were hoteling at that we ended up at the Pointe Hilton which is one of the nicest hotels in town and has the nicest pools/pool attraction parks. We also ate at our special place: Tutti Santi and watched La Vie en Rose and There Will be Blood. It was very romantic. We also saw Iron Man. If you were stupid enough to not watch the credits and wait, well then you don't know that Samuel L Jackson is Nick Fury and pissed off at Tony for revealing himself as Ironman. This is going to lead into the Avengers and open up more of the Marvel universe in maybe the next decade. And thank god cuz I am SICK of Spiderman, Hulk, Superman, and a little bit of Batman.

Today we left the Pointe and ran a bunch of other errands that I needed to get done before coming on home to mom. Got hair stuff for Sarah and myself, more clothes for myself, a Mother's Day griddle for mom, got my hair did, and filled up the car w/ gas. Now we're making mom watch No Country!

Tomorrow I leave for crappy-ass-weather Vancouver again.

So yesterday morning Stephen began to get ill. And has stayed that way. Food poisoning - he can't keep anything down. We're either not going to El Charro anymore or Sachiko Sushi.

Oh rapture.

I'm still in bed. In tucson. In my old bed. Stephen's making sleepy noises. I'm bored and protesting getting up and waking him, so update!

Friday I flew into Phx just in time for lunch. We got Tokyo Express as it's my all time, hands down favorite place for teriyaki chicken. You say your local place is better, I'm going to protest that (we also got a cherry limeade later - yuuuum). Went to Easley's (Carol wasn't there) and bought a lot of lashes, a couple things for school, and bantered a little about makeup they should stock b/c it's better than woochie, etc. Met the newest generation, Ashton who is very cute and quiet. Got some hair dye for Stephen, 3 new pairs of shoes for me, and went home. Ate dinner with mom and caught up.

Saturday the 3 of us had sweet potato pancakes, did Stephen and mom's hair, and went out on errands. Visited BevMo (it's like CostPlus World Market, but with booze), went to buy some more hair dye, went looking for a new griddle for mom, and ate at El Paso. Afterwards I got sick - mom has most likely told many of you what happened so I don't need to reiterate it. Sunday was spent with me still feeling bleh and not hungry - but Stephen still dyed my hair :) Also - I found out I'm going to be an Auntie again.

Monday - Stephen and I left for Tucson, unpacked, immediately went to Buffalo Exchange (to get in touch with our Rock Band personas). We've got new shirts (I even found an owl shirt - aka the O RLY shirt)! Ironically a brand that Stephen has fallen for is called Neves (I can't find it on the internet sadly). Neves=Seven. We also went out to dinner with Justin who is going to hopefully live up to his promise and help me get settled for work when I come back. I'm glad Stephen was there to hear it all and I'm sure he's very happy that I plan to stay in AZ rather than actually move in NM.

Breakdown of what I'll need to do:

1. Graduate and move back


2. Form an LLC in AZ and establish a residency in NM


3. When both are finished, contact Justin for his contacts in IATSE 480 for 3 letters of recommendation (or else I can't get in)

I'm essentially finished now. I just have to pack my shit up and study. I've done the math and still need to aim high as I still don't have grades from some assignments handed back. Need to also hand in a pack of photos from my port into Stan, Elissa, and Charles for them to pick from. I know for sure I'm submitting Apocalypto and Quill.

Speaking of Quill, my favorites. ( Take your pick as I need to tell the photographer which ones to PS asap. )
