his friends told him beneath the dirt
there was something to be found
he took his spade out
and made a hole in the ground
he heard a voice calling out to stop
he looked down slowly and saw a form
with his hands he brushed the dirt away
uncovering a face hardened like clay
with some water he cleansed his find
it started to move and open its eyes
shaking and unable to still the hand
she started crying he couldn't understand
he tried to ask but he found no answer
then they called him back
he's gone forever
and she is left waiting for her tears to dry her up again
