Blackouts. It's been sweeping the nation!! Oh no! This looks like a job for Lightbulb MAN!!! Dum da dum DEE DEE DEE DEE DUM!!! Elsewhere...
Felt like updating now, while lots of ppl are the unfortunate victims of the EViL Doctor BLACKOUT!! haha... aren't you jealous that i'm one of the lucky ones who have managed to escape his wrath? haha... Feel like doing a survey...
HAIR: John Cenaish!! WORD LIFE!

Sunday, June 13th, 2004
hmmm... Let me start off this blog stating my location. Yes, as you have guessed, i'm at Benjamin's house!! haha.. wow, for that you shall all get a no-prize!! you'll recieve it in the mail sometime soon. like 300 years later or something. Anyways...
woke up this morning with a horrible headache. Actually, had one the night before. Horrible horrible stuff. Took two panadols (again) and went to sleep... anyways... woke up at 10... and still had headache.. but this time it was quite mild. so, got up, made noodles and chugar toast (for all those wondering what in the blue hell that is, it's bread buttered and sprinkled with sugar, the covered with cheese. Go try it. you'll like it.)... then went about with the chores, sprucing up the place in preparation for the prospective buyers who would be coming later. haha... and i got this sick pair of shorts that makes the wearer look like he has an erection all the time... hmmm... shall give it to my cousin. haha...
anyways.. palindrome's are fun!!! haha... u know, those front-to-back-back-to-front- words? yup, like 'lion oil'.. dad, mum, noon... or 'madam, i'm adam'... those sort of thing... i found the world's longest one... here you are (knock yourself out):

haha... Coach's a POPCORN FART!!!
ok, just wanted to say that.
Second day in a row i'm updating this blog.. guess it's one of those sudden outbursts things... well, if you read the title, you'd be wondering what i'm talking about.. In all honesty, i have no idea.. it' just seemed like a fun title.. and no, the ice doesn't refer to the drug ice (amphetamines? is that how u spell it? help me out here...), but just regular ice.. as in, 'can i have a cup of ice' ice..
Ok, that was some useless banter.. well.. nothing much to say.. went to school today for maths lessons. And i did the work beforehand! Cue*Applause*... yup... amazing.. but i guess i owe it all to benjamin's room.. cos went there yesterday.. then sort of got in the studying mood... haha.. Anyways, got up this morning and left the house at roughly 655.. and the damned rain starting getting heavier the moment i stepped out of the house.. Curses!!! anyway... Got to the station, took to tampines, met jy... then we went to kallang to eat prata. and the ICE (there's that word again...) Milo was too sweet.. man, i'd overwork my insulin-producing kidney if i keep drink sweet ICE (haha.. the recurring object!) Milo..
Got to school and went straight to the band room to get some air con. and found out the band was at the AVT being drilled for the late for indoor incident thing. Sad sad... borrowed brenda's eupho to play a little while.. and only me, jy, cc, jien, and qp were in the band room... and just-see (jessie?) too.. although she was like hiding in the workroom.. what a Shy creature.. hmm..
Qin peng's gonna play memory on saturday. that's cool.. then i was asking him to do the sliding pitches thing.. then he tried and kept shaking his head to create the (it's not a sound effect to be put in words, but i'll try...) tiuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu effect (didn't work, did it?).. thought it was quite funny. But then we didn't laugh. So i guess it isn't very funny. Crap.
Went for maths lesson after that! and proudly showed my completed work!! haha... man, i'm just too hardworking.. well.. relaxing abit now as i update this.. and sipping on some ice tea. Man, that sounds like those Dignified englishmen who sit around all day and sip tea and have crumpets. But i dun even know what a crumpet is.. hmmm... maybe it's like a scone. haha... whatever..
Found a list of things to do if you're bored.. here's the top 50:

hmmm... i think that's useful for those who really have nothing better to do.. i feel like eating a lollipop now.. dunno why also. hmmm... lollipop syndrome? well... i got the Raisen in Onimusha 3!!! It's damn cool.. some sort of thunder spear! oh no.. i think i sound like some sort of computer nerd. hmmm.. but i'm not. and yes dun argue with me.
oh yeah, i had a free lunch today. Man, i'm a Cheapo.
And the world is round, not flat.
And i guess i'm really bored now.
But i'm not gonna go do those stupid stuff i spent half an hour listing out.
But i'm really bored now.
And i already played Onimusha today.
And my new set of 700 free messages starts tmr.
Which is good.
In case you were wondering.
I'm not a sentence per paragraph person.
Just that it's easier to bring attention to the subject of the paragraph this way.
And i'm not making much sense now.
And i shall talk about particle accelarators now.
Particle accelerators are devices producing beams of energetic ions and electrons which are employed for many different purposes, one being ultra-precision microscopy. As is well known objects with dimensions down to the size of a living cell are investigated by optical microscopes and those down to atomic dimensions by electron microscopes. The object details that can be seen (resolved) are given by the wavelength of the irradiation. To penetrate the interiors of atoms and molecules, it is necessary to use radiation of a wavelength much smaller than atomic dimensions. Nucleons (protons and neutrons) inside atomic nuclei have a size of around 10-15 meters and are separated by distances of the same order of magnitude. The electrons orbiting atomic nuclei as well as the quarks inside nucleons have a size, if any, smaller than 10-18 meters; they appear point-like.
Probing particles such as electrons and protons provided by particle accelerators are required for studies of atomic constituents. The associated de Broglie wavelength of a probing particle rather than the "macroscopic" wavelength defines the minimum object size that can be resolved. The de Broglie wavelength is inversely proportional to the particle momentum. For example if an electron is required to have a de Broglie wavelength comparable to the size of the nucleon, it must have a kinetic energy of 1,200 MeV (for an electron energy above 10 MeV, kinetic energy is proportional to momentum). This energy is several thousands times higher than the typical energy of electrons used in electron microscopes. The unit MeV, Million electron Volt, denotes the kinetic energy which a particle of unit charge acquires after passage in a voltage drop of one million volt.
Besides being required for ultra-precision subatomic microscopy, particles from accelerators colliding with target particles may lead to the creation of new particles, which acquire their mass from the collision energy according to the formula E=mc2. It is thus by conversion to mass of excess kinetic energy in a collision that particles, antiparticles and exotic nuclei can be created.
Particle accelerators are not only unique as tools for the exploration of the subatomic world, but are also used in many different applications such as material analysis and modification and spectrometry especially in environmental science. About half of the world's 15,000 accelerators are used as ion implanters, for surface modification and for sterilization and polymerization. The ionization arising when charged particles are stopped in matter is often utilized for example in radiation surgery and therapy of cancer. At hospitals about 5,000 electron accelerators are used for this purpose. Accelerators also produce radioactive elements that are used as tracers in medicine, biology and material science. Of increasing importance in material science are ion and electron accelerators that produce abundant numbers of neutrons and photons over a wide range of energies. Well-defined beams of photons are for example increasingly used for lithography in order to fabricate the very small structures required in electronics.
For all those who actually read thru that, congrats. you have officially gained knowledge on particle accelarators.
And i have no idea why i put that up.
Hmmm.. man, i'm bored.
Ok.. creative spark gone. Till the next update then. Would you like some ice?

Seems like ages... and ages (according to someone) since i've last updated... Well, it's only been roughly four months since i've touched this blog? haha... guess there's not much time to update this.. Anyways, been pretty busy, test upon test... now it's the holidays (*it's only a 'holiday' in name, not literally). Hmmmm... more or less retired from the band already.. so that's pretty sad. haha... guess i'll miss the guys and all. Take care man, hope u all like the letters i gave u guys..
Anyways, yesterday was supposed to be the takeover. Didn't feel special... haha... guess maybe cos it's not the real thing... some of the sec 4s complain that it's as if the juniors dun feel anything.. haha.. hmmm... well, i think, what's most important here is that sense of satisfaction that u get, knowing that you've helped them.. whether or not they will acknowledge u isn't really that important... for me, i dun do things expecting gratitude from others. Guess to do so would be quite selfish.. if you think about it, when u do something for someone, ur aim would be to help that person right? if you expect them to repay u all the time, then that defeats the whole purpose of helping someone right? well, maybe it's normal that one would like to be appreciated when one does something good for others, but i think that feeling of satisfaction is appreciation enough.. a simple thank you is all i require... feeling good knowing that you've helped someone is one of the nicest feelings... haha... well.. just wanted to talk about that a little...
Anyway, basses were doing well yesterday.. and looks like they'll be having not many problems in the coming months. Keep it up guys!!! Continue ascending that never-ending learning curve! haha... well, i'm glad to see a more or less bassian spirit.. work on that guys! Remember, BASSES is the BEST! cos Basses=Euphoniums=Stringbasses=Tubas=BES
Well... nothing much's happened... Wee Wee stayed over yesterday.. till this morning... hmmm.. tell u all the stupid stuff we did while watching WWE's Judgement day... haha.. like we kept making really idiotic comments on the matches... *especially the Booker T and Undertaker match* ...then we created a stupid way (which is really really irritating) of saying shut up.. u go Shutaap SHutaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap!! and drag the words in a very flat monotonous irritating voice.. haha... ok, the rest of the stupid things we did can't really be described in words(awww...what a waste..) haha... except that it was all funny as hell... hmm...
I've come up with a quote which sounds really philosophical, but doesn't make much sense. It's 'Not many men know how to live life, but not many have a life worth living.' haha.. dun ask me.. it just struck as i was stoning during the mrt ride back home... haha...
The weather's terrible these past few months.. seems as though everything's gotten hotter... guess, it's the saddening state of our environment.. wonder how big that ozone layer hole is.. anyways, guess we can't do anything much.. seems as though the human race is digging his/her (*equality between the sexes) own grave.. Wonder when the end of the world is coming... haha.. in case you're wondering what i'm saying has nothing to do with watching 'The Day After Tomorrow'... and i haven't watched it yet... think it should be a good show.. but those who are chronically depressed, dun think it'd be a good idea to watch it...

haha... ok... that's done... what should i do now? hmmm... just realized i haven't replied the people who mesaged me on msn... and i've finished the Pot of Bee Hoon and i'm still hungry. Think i'll go stuff myself with fruits.. just realized fruits are quite expensive. like, the other day, i saw this guy selling half a rock melon, a pretty small one, for $6!! like, i can buy two bowls of fried dumpling noodles with that! or 6 lo-mai-kais! or 15 packets of hacks sweets from the interchange mama shop! haha... anyways, fruits are important! and must eat two servings a day! or something like that...
Realized i haven't kept in touch with lots of my primary school mates... man, i gotta call them and go out or something.. but everyone's so not free cos of the Os preparation (including me).. Singapore's education system is really very stressful and pressurising... but at least we're well-supplied with knowledge which we'll most likely not apply in our future lives? haha... well, to say our government is good isn't exactly true; and neither is saying our government's bad... i guess we're (I'm?) just being picky..
hmmm... i stumbled on this quote... "Don't be so humble - you are not that great." - Golda Meir (1898-1978) to a visiting diplomat.. and i think this really makes a lot of sense... when i think about it, i realize that many of us aren't actually humble by nature, but humble cos we crave praise... very few are genuinely sincere about their humbleness... *just a thought for you all to nibble and ponder on.
Anyways.. started playing Onimusha 3: Demon Seige.. and it's really good.. i wanna get the Guidebook! but then, it's one of those luxuries i guess i can't really afford.. gotta save money.. what with the economic downturn and all... haha.. thank god for www.Gamefaqs.com... god bless their souls. Onimusha 3 is a really good game.. for all those playing it, good for u! For all those not, go get it (only if you've got that extra money to spare)! For those who dun have a Ps2, guess you'll just have to entertain yourselves with other stuffs... hmmm...
Hmmmm... you know.. seems that i find more and more ppl sinking into depression.. as Aldous Huxley (Who?) once said, 'Maybe this world is another planet's Hell.' hmmm.. but with the number of ppl i see each day with a serious look on their face, i'm beginning to wonder that planet is in fact this world.. i had ppl come complaining to me about how their so sick of life and stuff.. well, i guess the only way to save yourselves would be to snap out of it, see things from a positive viewpoint and just make the best of what u have. Why make yourself so miserable? Isn't the world doing that for you already? Think about this if start feeling down.. personally, giving up's for losers... the winners persevere.. yup, remember, if you're feeling down, think of something good, look on the bright side of life, and move on strong!
Quote of the hour: Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transistion that's troublesome.
alright.. think i've done enough (although it seems as though it's never enough...) updating for today. Maybe i'll be back........ and maybe i won't. Till then, i'm outta here.
Thursday, February 19th, 2004
Sigh.... Finally getting around to updating this... like alot of things to say, yet dunno how to say it... why like that? ok... let me start with school...
I think school's getting really stupid and meaningless... i really dun see the relevance in some of the subjects we study man.. like, what, i'm gonna use binominial theorem to calculate my change or something, or i'll need to find a tangent to something... wow, like i need to know how aluminium oxides react in water and stuff.. sigh... so crap man... feel like some of the subjects only have a little LiTTLE bit that can be applied to everyday life... Anyway... i sit at the bACK... so most of the time i'm on my own regarding school work... fins that a lot of teachers either dunno how to teach, or only know how to teach... really boring sometimes... and when lessons get boring, damn hard to absorb info lah... Maybe it's just me... i dunno. Anyway, not really doing well so far.. marks are just soso.... and ms Huda thinks there's something wrong with me. She actually came over to my place (as in, in the classroom) to talk to me... then ask why i like always so tired and whether i can cope... like, how can she help me man... i mean, thanks for your concern lah, but that's all u can give... The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak lah... The world seems like such a gloomy place... Feel as though there's hardly anyone i can turn to...
ok... Family.... for those of you who know, that's good. For those who dun, that's even BETtER. 'Nuff said!
What is this man!!!! irritating ppl's week ah? bloody hell... some ppl are just so irritating i can't stand it... like, gimme a break... i'm not a machine u know... you can't expect me to have a perfect memory or something and to not get tired or something right? aRGHHHH...
Anyway.. now i'm gonna talk about band. PARTICULARLY MY SECTION. sigh... why like that... can't u all just respond like the tubas... feel so damn lousy man... I'm so sorry man... but i've tried. Really REALLY hard. I just dun get response... hmmmm... sometimes i envy ben man... arghhhhhhhhhh.... Like, yesterday i really saw how bad it was. or rather HEARD.. Individually their fine... but they just dun respond to each other. Ok... new tactic to use, ensure a response and assert my authority...
To SOMEONE: Please do not get to arrogant or cocky or what. It's pissing the whole world off. I believe i've said enough...
Got so many ******* tests next week man... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
That's nearly as bad as the season of 'Home in Toa Payoh' ending!! sigh... Thank god tmr's friday... friday's have an uplifting effect on me... =) finally a smile...
Till next time then,
Saturday, January 31st, 2004
i really dunno what to do... and i feel so frustrated... and i wanna give up... Just when i thought my day couldn't get any worse... So shit man...
Sunday, January 25th, 2004
you know ah, photo shooting is very shitty stuff. The other day, on wed when got half day then everybody gets to go back eariler and I and some other ppl who are also unlucky enuff to be in the photoshoot cannnot go back earlier, there was this photoshoot... for the school magazine or something. VERY VERY VERY dumb. Then it's bad enuff we had to wear tie, thenstill stand under the hot sun in the Zhen xin Yuan... haha... that's not too bad actually, but then the worsst part was when we had to do those stupid poses... like point at the clouds, condos, cars, birds, etc. and look in awe at them or something... so dumb... then Mr tan like some pro photo guy (CHAYHIM?), then take a few... then we go rest a while... then take again... then rest... then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take then rest then take... okok... so maybe we didn't do the photo taking too many times.... *note: i'm exaggerating. Then still got SOME PPL (dun say who) sitting at the table there under the staircase, laughing at us suffering.. so xin zai le huo...
Anyway.... Oh yah... today was pretty dumb.. ben supposed to come my place, but didn't. Also dunno why... too lazy to ask. Anyway, i used this time to be productive.... i studied chem!!! ACIDS, BASES and SALTS!! dumb man.... stooopid test after exams... anyway.... after that, i was calling ppl... call and call and call... to tell them about the indoor test time changes... ahha.. but quite nice to hear their reactions... very funny man (oopsss sounds evil)... anyway... most react with an 'AHHHHHHHHHH!!! HOW COMMEEEEEE!?!!?' (ie. Ms Jien).... hmmm...
Tmr's the CNY celebrations.. heng i dun need to take part in the competitions... haha.. but got the stupid line story passing thing (you'll find out tmr)... anyway...

Friday, October 31st, 2003
hey, it's been awhile since i've updated. Quite awhile actually.
The past two months have been really hectic and stuff, and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Got a lot of things to get off my chest.
My life sux man. My family like so broken like that. You know ah, today, it was raining so damn heavily. Then i had to call my mum to pick me up at the mrt station. So, when i got in the car, she asked me about my marks. Then i told her i didn't get back my report book. I shan't bore u with the details of the whole conversation, even though it was short, but she ended up nagging me about my marks. I mean, come on lah, i know 19 isn't a good aggregate, but the least she can do is encourage, not criticize. Shit lah. Feel so damn bloody failure. Like, oh wow, nagging me and reminding me of how freaking lousy i am is gonna motivate me to study even harder. If that were the case, i'd be some sort of top-scorer now. Sometimes i just feel like giving up.
I find it harder and harder to communicate with my family. It's like, we're strangers living under the same roof. Sigh.... just feels so goddam sick sometimes. I talk to my sis's, they forever brushing me off. Either that or treat me like some freak or something. Then now using the com in my sis's room, have to keep abiding her stupid rules. Yeah, it's her room lah, but so many rules and crappy shit, until i sometimes dun feel like coming online liao. Like, have to log off the com by ten. Why? Cos she wants to sleep. Pig man. Then wanna use the com, she'll lock her room door when she's showering. I mean, like, ppl wanna go online and need to do work man. She locks the door and when she finishes her bath or something, it's 9 something. Oh wow, i can finish my work before ten. Yeah, right. sucks lah.
Maybe i'm just being very biased here or something, like just keep complaining or something. Yeah, i do have my faults, and sometimes it's my fault. But i can only take so much. I mean, i come home, i dun do much except come online or study.sigh...
Man, i study study study so goddam hard, and in the end, get such shit results. What's this man?!? Sometimes dun find the use in studying. arghhh...
U know, sometimes, i feel like being alone. Just to think by myself. Sometimes in the middle of the night, or rather morning, i'd sit in my chair and review the week. U know, like stuff i've done, like whether i regret anything. But i find no use in regretting. Not like u can change anything. Anyway, i would think of other things too, like look at my life and the direction it's heading now. Sometimes life feels so pointless.
I wonder whether i seem very cheerful or something.
I would like to say one thing. I know my chinese isn't good or anything, seeing the circumstances in which i have growned up and all, but i hate to constantly reminded of that. I mean, like whole day got ppl (won't say who, cos some of them are my good friends) tease me about it. Like, what, can't i read a chinese book or something, isit so wrong for me to read a chinese book? I know i'll never be a Chen chung or a Di Xuan or those chinese good ones, but i just can't take it sometimes. I mean, telling me my chinese isn't good is like telling a hairy man he's got lots of hair. I know that already, and i dun want to be reminded of it all the time. I'm already working on it. Bloody hell, so ____________ man... these people nothing better to do ah. sigh... ok, i know maybe they all say it unintentionally sometimes, but it does strike me inside. I just feel so alien.
Right about here, i'd like to say a 'Thank you' to Chen chung and wilson, who has always been helping all the time. Thanks man, i owe u guys.
Why is everything so marks-based? U know, i find it very contradictory. Like, i read this article about Singapore's education system being too marks-based and that the students have forgotten how to enjoy life. It was written by a teacher. Well, the article claims that students in singapore are always very stressed and pressured into doing well, as though marks are everything. They tell us not to worry too much about marks and all. But then again, we are always pressured into doing well, and with people like _________ (insert names) constantly comparing marks, it seems like that ultimate winner is the one who gets the highest for this test or that exam. Like, tell us not to be so marks-based and yet tell us to enjoy life, yet pressure us into getting good grades. Yes, a bit of pressure is essential and is of course, good, but not too much. We are after all, only human. Sometimes i feel so pressured to perfom that i could burst. sigh.... Well, i'm trying, no, not trying, doing all i can to balance everything in my life. Really, i'm trying, but sometimes the setbacks really set me back a lot.
I realized i have been lamenting on and on about grades. Arghhhh.... Change of subject.
You know, i have this shirt i bought from thailand. It's a wwe shirt, and it has Kane's picture on the back, and on the front is says 'Face your fear'... I think that makes sense. I think it makes a whole lot of sense. Maybe i shall do that.
Sometimes, i just wanna be alone...

All the money in the world can't buy u happiness.
I remember a primary school friend once told me that. I always thought otherwise... but today i learnt what that really meant.
Today, on the way back, i started questioning my life, my actions, myself. What's life for? What's the use of living? Then i started wondering, am i really happy? I thought the answer was yes, but upon closer thinking, i realized i'm far from being happy.
I remember people telling me how lucky i am, got rich parents and like very 'successful' like that... sigh... i think it's just the opposite. Well, i guess u could say i've got worms in this big shiny red apple called 'my life'.. Why?
Today, my mum picked me up from the station, and i told her that wilson was coming over tmr (the next day), then she like very suprised like that. Not exactly suprised lah, but like very disappointed like that. Then she went on to say that she had made plans for all of us to go out the next day, cos my sis's birthday... then i told her i needed to do my work. Then she got very upset, and started saying that our family is very broken. All distancced from each other. But the biggest gap is between me and my sisters. and my dad. and even my mum. basically my ENTIRE family. sigh,.... then she said, sometimes she doesn't know what to do, then she started crying... the moment she started crying, i just felt this whole overwhelmation (dunno if got such a word) of feelings. i just couldn't help it.
I started crying too.
Sometimes i just feel so bad. I mean, everytime my family go out, i'm always the one who doesn't go out with them, and always cos i have work to do. arghhhhh....!!! what's happening to me?
Another thing is my dad. He's away so often. I mean, the number of times i see him a year, i can count with my FINGERS. yes, my FINGERS. sigh... just now at the bus stop, i saw this father and son sitting at the side of the drain there, looking at the stars and talking. it wasn't anything special that they were doing, but when i saw it, i became envious. really envious. how i wished i could do something like that with my dad. i mean, i hardly see my dad, and we dun even do such simple things as talk to each other. as in have a nice conversation. i meaningful one. how i wish i just get to do something like that with my dad. nothing special, just maybe go jogging or something... sigh... some people dun know how lucky they are..
My dad's always away, earning money. Now what's the use, if ultimately, u dun get to enjoy that money. and what's the use of being rich. At the most, u only get materialistic things. sigh.... the real things in life that really matter, that mean a lot aren't purchasable. what's the point of being rich if u dun enjoy living ur life, and instead slave away, working so hard to earn money, so that u can enjoy ur life. Now isn't that contradicting? i mean, if u slave away your life, or rather, the part of your life where u should be enjoying urself, what's the use of having so much money? sure, u'd get a wonderfully nice retirement, but then, but dun forget, we only live once. and we're only young once. true, u can be young at heart, but then, what's the use if physically, you aren't really capable of what a young person might be able to do? Simple things like some sports and stuff.... sigh... the whole world revolves around money...
arghhh... many people think i'm very lucky. well, if u considered a home which is cold and aric, a family which you're distant from, a dad which u hardly see at all, indications of luck, then i guess i'm the luckiest guy in the world. Unfortunately (or fortunately), that's not the case.... all the money in the world can't buy u happiness. I'm certainly very satisfied or anything. I ain't happy with my life. sometimes i envy those that actually spend time with their parents, especially those that are really close to their dads...
sigh... I cried today.... what a horrible feeling it is....
What's the use of being rich?
Blurty for twain.
