New yogurt? [11 Dec 2007|09:31am]
Ok, so I tried a new yogurt, and I thought I'd mention it to you all because it's reaaaally good. It's called Oikos, and it's an organic Greek-style yogurt that is made by Stonyfield Farms. Despite being fat free, it's ridiculously rich and creamy, which is awesome. Nutritionally, it's way better than regular yogurt too because it has more protein and fewer carbs. I had some for breakfast yesterday, and I was full forever because of all the extra protein (most yogurts only have about 6 g protein per serving). If you're looking for a nutritional boost, add some ground flax seed, nuts, or fresh/dried fruit to your yogurt!

For a 6 oz serving of plain: 100 cals, 7g carbs (milk sugars), 16g protein, and 20% calcium. No fiber, no fat. Right now there are only two flavors: vanilla and plain. The vanilla has 20 more calories.
