I was flipping through the current issue of Shape magazine and found some interesting little bits that might help some of you (at least they did for me :).
Excerpt from the Katharine McPhee interview (American Idol singer who recovered from bulimia):
3 Things I Learned About Healthy Eating
1) THERE ARE NO BAD FOODS. Katharine: "I love Snickers bars. For many years, I denied myself, which is why I wanted them so badly. In the eating-disorder center I attended, I had to eat them every day to get over the excitement. Now I rarely crave them."
2) SNACK SMART. Katherine: "I'll have an apple with peanut butter or cottage cheese with fruit. Healthy foods like these help satisfy my hunger."
3) LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Katherine: "I eat what I want--pizza, pasta with marinara sauce, ice cream, bread--but now I pay attention to how I feel while I'm eating. When I'm full, I stop."
4 Things You Can Learn From Fad Diets
1) EAT BETTER CARBS 2) FILL UP ON SOUP 3) PUMP UP THE PROTEIN 4) CONTROL YOUR PORTIONS
