Plastic by: Kali, 18, Minneapolis, MN
Plastic is what we strive for Every single day To be perfect and unflawed In every single way.
We all want to be Barbie Skin perfect, skinny waist Large breasts and long blonde hair And always by Ken chased.
As girls we seem to wish That there was a magic machine That would fix our "imperfections" So there is no in-between.
Society today Tells us how to be How to feel and think and act And even what to see
To see the "imperfections" All of us have to face Are exaggerated often Or lined in expensive lace.
But plastic is not perfect It always has a seam It melts and deforms If exposed to steam.
It can not bend and move Or love or laugh or live Or sleep or blink Or take or even give.
Now I ask you just one question Just this very one Does being plastic Sound like that much fun?
