UGH, I had a vacation bump this week. :(
Sadly it didn't even come from the fair visit. That day I lost almost a pound.
The gain came from before and after visiting the fair.

un-inspired [17 Aug 2012|10:29am]

[ mood | groggy ]
[ music | nothing left to lose... mat kearney ]

Feeling slightly less inspired this week. It's been a pretty emotional week & I've been struggling to get enough calories in. Today is about hydration, hydration, hydration... & focusing on having a solid & fulfilling lunch to up the cals.

The CLEAN Program is still going well & I feel generally more energetic & am sleeping better (and being more productive, if I do say so myself), the last few days I've just been experiencing detox symptoms, and I'm trying throw water & yoga at them.

Newest edible love- (1) forbidden (black) rice & (2) adding 1/4 of an avocado into my shakes.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Y'all probably have heard of this, but I am coming late to the Kombucha party. This stuff is very energizing & detoxifying. http://www.baofoodanddrink.com/ It's an aquired taste, but I'm loving the super green. A lot of folks in my yoga classes love ginger flavors. It kills my sugar cravings & is loaded with probiotics, vitamins, enzymes, & antitoxants.

Clean program [07 Aug 2012|04:18pm]

perfectionlost
[ mood | energetic ]

Been doing the Clean Program (thanks Gwyneth Paltrow) & it's really forcing me to re-evaluate my eating habits. The premise- eat an elimination diet style for 3 weeks to rid your body of toxins. The usually suspects are the ones that are eliminated: gluten, dairy & eggs, nightshades, Pork, beef, veal, shellfish, soybean products, peanuts, processed oils (butter, canola oils, etc), alcohol, soda, and refined sugar & natural sugars that spike blood sugar (agave nectar/honey).

Obviously there are tons of things one can eat, but it forces you to be mindful & get creative. I've seriously been eating the best, most nutritious, lunches the past week or so. Salmon w/Quinoa & roasted mushrooms, butternut squash soup w/cauliflower florets, organic chicken w/brown rice & roasted veggies, etc.

The book is a great read, check it out: Clean: The Revolutionary Program To Restore the Body’s Natural Ability to Heal Itself, by Dr. Alejandro Junger.

[ mood | disappointed ]

A LONG over due step onto the scale came this morning. I just finally said enough is enough. Feeling way too fat.
The last time I was on the scale was April 30. So three months later...

I have gained everything I had lost up until that point and then some.

Needing inspiration... [12 Jul 2012|08:40am]

perfectionlost
[ mood | apathetic ]
[ music | thinking of you... katy perry ]

I'm finding that I need inspiration to cook for my family. When I'm trying to lose weight, and watching my fruit, veggie, etc intake, it's hard to find a recipe that doesn't look down right scary. I'm admittedly too lazy to cook something for myself & then something separate for the tater tot & the love...

What are some great recipes that my boys won't turn their nose up, that have a quick modification to suit my needs... like, just eating a smaller portion, or removing a finishing sauce, etc?

the love & tot are very much italian. so carbs + a size of meat + some million calorie sauce = staples. Also, both have metabolisms like jack rabbits.

It's another surprise week in the weight department
I was kind of thinking it was going to be a weight gain. I was a little too free with my intake.
But I actually lost some weight. :o

Well, Last weeks massive drop didn't hold through this week.
Couple of possible reasons?
1. I didn't run around at work quite so much as the previous week.
2. More likely, I was a little more laxed in my eating. Not horrible, but I didn't eat well.

Holy Crap..........
How much is too much to loose in a week? :p
This is really a sad commentary on how much I was eating up until this past week.
Now if I can just keep at it this time.

I SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went off my diet for my vacation and just couldn't get myself started back up again, and then I fell victim to the temptations of Easter.....
How could I allow myself to gain almost every single pound I lost in one frickin' month. :(
