12:53am: So, just what did I feel about "Return of the King?"
I could go on and on, but here's some excerpts from IMs I've been having:

WReality24: Just got back from "Return of the King"
ChazApe: What'd you think?
WReality24: One of the best movies I've ever seen
ChazApe: Heh.
ChazApe: It was definitely the best of the trilogy.
WReality24: I agree whole-heartedly.

WReality24: Just saw it . . .
FreshMarketMurph: amazing?
WReality24: Incredible
FreshMarketMurph: a few steps from perfection, i'd say
FreshMarketMurph: i would have only made a few changes
FreshMarketMurph: :-)
FreshMarketMurph: and, speaking of perfection, i start acme today... 7 am to 1
WReality24: yes, but only a few. "The Scouring of the Shire" being left out was my only complaint.
WReality24: Ahhh, good.
FreshMarketMurph: true... but that would have been a lot to add on to the film
FreshMarketMurph: i was saddened by no sauramin
FreshMarketMurph: and no lieutenant of mordor...
WReality24: Extended edition
FreshMarketMurph: it really needed some big guy up there to say "gandalf, you suck"
FreshMarketMurph: all mockingly.
WReality24: yes, the Mouth of Sauron was missed
FreshMarketMurph: but yes, the EE will fix that
FreshMarketMurph: though the true hero of the film is sam
FreshMarketMurph: he was incredible.
WReality24: Yes!
FreshMarketMurph: his one line really got me... "though i cannot carry your burden... i can carry you!"
FreshMarketMurph: the audience went nuts
WReality24: I found this movie the closets to Tolkien's vision
WReality24: Yes, as did ours
FreshMarketMurph: even though denthonir (spelling?) was a bit... um... lacking
FreshMarketMurph: he was still great with what he did
FreshMarketMurph: but i wish they developed him a little more
FreshMarketMurph: theodin was great... the charge really got me
WReality24: Yes it was.
FreshMarketMurph: and i wish they thew in some appendix stuff to the ending... like legolas and gimli going to the grey havens
FreshMarketMurph: (if i'm correct)
WReality24: Something like that.
FreshMarketMurph: i'm glad the movie ended with sam,t hough
FreshMarketMurph: *though
WReality24: Yes, with the exact liines from the book
WReality24: "well, i'm back"
FreshMarketMurph: but i would have liked to have seen merry, pippin, gimli and legolas go off too
FreshMarketMurph: they just kind of... walk away
FreshMarketMurph: the witch-king was cool 8-)
FreshMarketMurph: he didn't do much... but he was still cool
FreshMarketMurph: yeah minas morgul :-)
WReality24: Yeah, although I thought he had too many lines
FreshMarketMurph: true... but i was glad he at least did something more than scream
FreshMarketMurph: when he was fighting, he seemed huge
FreshMarketMurph: like, sauron-from-fellowship style
WReality24: Yes. I was on the edge of my seat during the battle of pellenor fields
WReality24: and in Mount Doom. It was done perfectly.
WReality24: Gollum's death was so grusome
FreshMarketMurph: likewise
FreshMarketMurph: mount doom, though a wee rushed in the end, was great
FreshMarketMurph: though i wish they would have done a mental "what i'm imagining" scene when sam held the ring
FreshMarketMurph: i would have loved to see jackson's vision of "Samwise the conqurer" or whatnot
WReality24: Yes, I always loved that scene from the book. Sam, sitting on his throne.
FreshMarketMurph: hehe
FreshMarketMurph: as he should!
FreshMarketMurph: though now i'm envisioning dan mcpeek wearing the witch-king's helmet
WReality24: lol
FreshMarketMurph: "no customer can kill me!"
FreshMarketMurph: "i am no customer!"
FreshMarketMurph: hah!
FreshMarketMurph: lol
WReality24: lol
FreshMarketMurph: the endings were beautiful though
FreshMarketMurph: i always get choked up with elrond and arawen
FreshMarketMurph: he looked like he was about to cry there too
FreshMarketMurph: so good
FreshMarketMurph: i really want to see this movie again so i can appreciate it, rather than being on the edge of my seat :-)
WReality24: the Arwen stuff didn't have much effect on me. The Gray Havens scene had me teary-eyed.
WReality24: yeah, same here.
FreshMarketMurph: eh, i always get chokey when they chat about elrond giving arawen awy
FreshMarketMurph: *away
FreshMarketMurph: heck, i was sad when haldir died
FreshMarketMurph: he always ruled.
FreshMarketMurph: and olephants are just cool
FreshMarketMurph: and i learned that charging them on horseback is a bad idea.
WReality24: Yeah. As soon as I saw that, I just knew the ol' Riders of Rohan were in for trouble.
FreshMarketMurph: i liked merry and pippin... they really developed as more than "comic relief"
WReality24: The Armies of Dead was an incredible visual
FreshMarketMurph: and gimli was actually funnier
FreshMarketMurph: oh yes... the audience went nuts when they poured out of the ships.
WReality24: Glad you had quite the active crowd. Ours was as well.
FreshMarketMurph: i did the trilogy tuesday thing
FreshMarketMurph: so everybody was gripping their seats
WReality24: I heard about that from Danny.
FreshMarketMurph: my eyes are still a wee bit sore from all that movie watching
FreshMarketMurph: at the end of ROTK, i thought i was going to die
WReality24: Trish and I were going to watch the two other before we went, but we ran outta time.
FreshMarketMurph: 12 hours or so of watching
FreshMarketMurph: and nearly 17 hours spent at tinsteltown
FreshMarketMurph: yeah obsession >:o
WReality24: I wanted to do that, but I don't think I would have been able to handle it.
FreshMarketMurph: it was quite a test of endurance
FreshMarketMurph: i thought i was going to kill myself during fellowship
FreshMarketMurph: i enjoy it... but i just watched it a week or so ago
FreshMarketMurph: that's a lot of introduction
WReality24: Indeed. It's hard to get through, esspecially the EE.
FreshMarketMurph: the two towers EE is quite enjoyable
FreshMarketMurph: i prefer that ending
WReality24: with Fangorn Forest? Yes.
FreshMarketMurph: ROTK's extended should be at least 4 hours long, i'm told
FreshMarketMurph: 4.25, if possible
WReality24: I plan on sitting down and watching all three EE's when ROTK comes out.
FreshMarketMurph: better get some caffine for that :-)
WReality24: Planning on it.

Spot0: But how was the movie?
WReality24: One of the best movies I've ever seen, to be honest.
Spot0: Really?
WReality24: Yeah. It hit on every level. It had it's minor flaws, but overall very, very good. Any big problems should be rolled in the "Extended Edition" next year on DVD.
Spot0: How long was the movie overall?
WReality24: 3 hours, 40 minutes
WReality24: I think I need to see it again, though, to soak it all in. This first was very much a heart-pounding, edge of seat viewing. The second time, I can really get a better feel for it.
WReality24: If that makes any sense at all . . .
Spot0: I hear the epic final battle is a lot like Two Towers.
WReality24: To an extent. Somethings are pretty similair, but there are more differences that similairites.
Spot0: Hrm... I'll have to see it, I guess.

So . . . what's that tell you?

1:01am: What a day . . .
I've had an interesting day.

Woke up this morning to Tricia telling me that she just got back from the hopsital, and she needed to have her gall bladder removed next week. So, with that sitting on my mind already, I tried to get everyone organized for the Christmas gift exchange, which went okay. Then, I went off to schedule for classes and did so, much to my own happiness and satisfaction. Had McDonald's for breakfast. Got home, got in touch with my quasi-sister-in-law and FINALLY got it all worked out with the damn exchange after a brief visit. Went to Tricia's, started to watch "Fellowship," but her Dad called and was being (as usual) an asshole about money and what not (he had a few good points, but for the most was just coming off as a buttmonkey). That caused an insane erruption of screams, curses, tears, and whatnot from Tricia. Which in turn prevented us from our 'triology'-fest. We loafed around for a bit, then we went shopping for some foods she can eat (they have to be fat-free or it equals pain). Got back to her house, she ate. Then we went and met Danny and Leslie and went to see "Return of the King" and I LOVED it. Took her home without any driving incidents (the roads are snowy) and that's pretty much it, then came home myself. When I did come home, I discovered a plethora of voicemail from Mr. Clem and he sounded sorry (no comment). I called Tricia about it and she said she would deal with it in the morning. So, then, I got on-line and chatted with people and I now I'm so dead tired.

Still, I've got a hefty plate. I've got to find someway to be off the day Tricia goes into surgery (a process that includes ripping off my own testicles, bronzing them, and giving them to Acme management), finish my Christmas shopping, and find out if I'm going down south with Tricia (if she IS even going back down, that is).

All-in-all, it's been an exhausting day and I just need to sleep. I've gotta fuckin' work in the morning.

Six hours with one fifteen minute break . . . ugh.
