10:51pm: Lamentations of two Bag-Boys . . .
WReality24: Mr. Petricini, I see you pulled a fast one on the Fresh this day.
FreshMarketDan: yes i did...and caught major hell for it
WReality24: Oh? From whom? What happened?
FreshMarketDan: i requested today off...yet they still scheduled me..they really shot their own feet off.
WReality24: Did you call off today or did you talk to someone yesterday?
FreshMarketDan: Well i called the office and they made me talk to management...IE Kevin
WReality24: Was he pissed?
FreshMarketDan: and he was like "just because you put in a request it doesnt mean you get the day off"...then he said "Where are you at today...packing" Me: "No ,Frozen" Kevin: "Well you really screwed us..." then he hung up
FreshMarketDan: how can he even say that just because you request you dont get the day...that makes no sense
WReality24: I know, it's really dumb. It's just like when I went to North Carolina for Labor Day and yet, they still worked me.
FreshMarketDan: did you call off?
WReality24: No, I didn't even know I had to work until I was on my way home and Dan called my house. And then he came out and defended Henry for not honoring my request and I was in trouble for not knowing. I was out of the state by the time they put the schedule up!
FreshMarketDan: i think that..they think we put Acme above the rest of our lives...
WReality24: I know, those bastards.
FreshMarketDan: if they dont honor my request..then i am going to continue to call off...
FreshMarketDan: fuck them
WReality24: Exactly!
FreshMarketDan: "well you screwed us"
FreshMarketDan: its highly unlikely that i am the only one in the damn store who could have worked in Frozen today...
WReality24: He was pissy anyways today. He closed last night and then had to be in at 5:30 this morning and the store was a mess
WReality24: Yeah, I ended back in frozen for my last hour.
WReality24: Ore Ida was wiped out, but other than that, there wasn't anything too destroyed.
FreshMarketDan: i wanted to say that i was at my Grandmothers 80 birthday party...and that he would like his grandkids at his 80 birthday.
FreshMarketDan: its true
WReality24: yeah
FreshMarketDan: but that would be uncouth.
WReality24: It could have been worse - Henry could have been working today and you would have had to talk to him.
FreshMarketDan: true
FreshMarketDan: he is on vacation
WReality24: In my opinion, you did the right thing.
FreshMarketDan: thanks
FreshMarketDan: Acme is so frustrating sometimes
FreshMarketDan: we are treated like dog shit
WReality24: tell me about it.
WReality24: We are! When was the last time we were told we were appreciated!
FreshMarketDan: never
WReality24: And if we make ONE mistake, we catch hell for it.
FreshMarketDan: indeed we do...
FreshMarketDan: Management gets all the credit for anything good that happens
FreshMarketDan: even though its us that makes it happen
WReality24: hell yes
FreshMarketDan: REVOLUTION!
FreshMarketDan: but if anything bad happens to management..they just kiss ass and blame us..
WReality24: Except we can't do anything about it, though, because the damn union sits on us at the slightest sign of protest
WReality24: Exactly!
FreshMarketDan: its really a shame
WReality24: No shit
WReality24: I would love to go to all the different Acmes and see if any of their packers/stockers are treated any better
WReality24: and you know the answer to that, of course
FreshMarketDan: i would have to say some are treated worse
WReality24: most definetly
WReality24: we're like freaking cannon fodder to them, you know? bossed around, bitched at for nothing, and no real "thanks"
FreshMarketDan: nothing at all
FreshMarketDan: expect spread word to customers to boycot our own store
FreshMarketDan: that would get their attention
WReality24: yeah
or get a signed petition of all the packers to give to albrecht to have policy changed for packers
FreshMarketDan: what needs to be changed though?
FreshMarketDan: request policies?
WReality24: I don't know exactly. but it would at least show them that we're tired of being treated like "sack-monkeys"
FreshMarketDan: indeed
WReality24: of course, we're not aloud to do that.
FreshMarketDan: draw it up mr. woodside...ill sign it
WReality24: I can't, though. The union says we're not allowed to petition
FreshMarketDan: really?
WReality24: yeah, i'm pretty sure
FreshMarketDan: The constitution says otherwise my friend...
WReality24: see, that's another thing. I don't even know what kind of contract i signed!
FreshMarketDan: they just flash that shit by
FreshMarketDan: sign here!
WReality24: exactly! When the new contracts came out, I wasn't told ahead of time, nor was I made aware of all the crappy changes before the time of the voting was over!
WReality24: we're never told about raises, if we want our contract changed (as it should be after graduation) it doesn't get done for months and 90% of the time we don't get back-pay because it makes the office look bad
FreshMarketDan: oh yes
FreshMarketDan: quite true
WReality24: you know, if we only knew more at the other acmes, we could probably really start something
WReality24: more people*
FreshMarketDan: do you think that others would be sympathetic to our cause
FreshMarketDan: at our acme?
WReality24: i think they'd be sympathetic to our cause because they're probably going through the same shit
WReality24: oh well. i'm thinking there's nothing we really do anyways
FreshMarketDan: nope, we are screwed
WReality24: i wouldn't mind going around to at least our packers and talking to them about signing a petition telling management that they need to honor our requests b/c with have lives outside of acme that are either as or more important
WReality24: of course, there's always a snitch
WReality24: oh well
