2:34pm: The One Ring is to Middle-Earth, as Walmart is to the real world
Tolkien never wanted an allegory,

But as much as I would like to follow his words, I can't help but realize that our own world does indeed posses it's one own evil. That's right. Walmart.

Don't believe me? Look at the evidence! I used to HATE going to Walmart. In fact, up until last November, I had only been there THREE times. THREE. But more and more often, I have found myself journeying there. Using to feed my He-Man and Diet Coke addiction.

I have grown terribly use to the store. Using it more than I probably realize. Much as Frodo pawed at the One Ring when a Ringwraith would show up, I walk into Walmart when a free moment allows for it.

Then, of course, I saw the proverbial eye of Sauron. When I walked in, I was intent on getting money back using my debt card. I stupidly grabbed a HUGE box of Little Debbie Oatmeal Cookies and was all set to get back $5.00 back when - BAM! - I could only recieve $20.00! Leaving me with only a big box of snacks that I shouldn't have anyways.

Where's Frodo, Gollum, and Samwise when you really need them? I'd like to toss Walmart into a valcano.
