September 15th:
The final day of my trip. :( I woke up early, showered and got dressed. I took my camera and ran around some of the hotel getting some snap shots of the cool architectural designs. Unfortunately my time was running short so I didn't get around the entire hotel. Hopefully another time. I went back to my room and gathered up all my stuff, my now TWO suitcases and camera case. :p I headed for the front desk to check out. I stopped at the mail slot to drop off my postcards for my friend, Derek, that I waited until the last night to write. Talk about timing. The postal guy was just emptying out the box. :) I hadn't left a credit card number for possible purchases which allows for "quick" check out, so I had to stop at the desk. Naturally I didn't have any extra charges and so it was simply a formality. I ran over to the gift store hoping to pick up a couple of things that I didn't get at Downtown Disney the night before. Unfortunately, they didn't have what I was looking for. I did pick up a couple of little boxes of Minnie's cookies and a couple of chocolate bars. Then I stuffed them in my suitcase and called to see if my friend Adela was ready to go. They were going to be so kind as to take be back to the airport. They said they would meet me out front of the main entrance. We loaded up my suitcases and headed out. It was sad to know I wasn't just heading out to a park and that I wouldn't be coming back to the hotel. :( We headed out for the highway, and I will admit I was a little worried. lol..... Although they knew where they were going, they were also a little lost. LOL... But they eventually got their landmarks set and we found the airport. :) They dropped me off and took a couple of pictures. You can see me at Adela's journal, scorpio56. I am so jealous. She is going back to Disney World in November to celebrate her 50th birthday. Oops, I shouldn't have broadcasted that. hehehe..... As we parted Adela told me not to do any shopping. I was like okay. :p We parted, HUGS. I found my check in desk. The lady asked if a window seat was okay? I said sure. Then I said, If I could get what I had on the way down it would be great. She ask if I had a seat to myself, and I said yes. She goes, Well let's see what we can do. She said looks good. I walked over to check my one suitcase thinking yeah, I wonder how long that will last when people start checking in for the flight. :p I started out to find the gate and low and behold what did I find? A Disney Store. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went in and I found a photo album. Why did I get just one??????? I also picked up a box of chocolates. They are the figures of the Disney characters, and some hot chocolate. There are about six little tins of different flavors. Unfortunately, I didn't see the Pooh bear I wanted. :( So I packed that away in my remaining suitcase and headed for security. I stripped off my shoes and sent everything through. The guy stops and asks if they were my shoes. I was like, Yeah. I need to take a test of them. I was like okay. No clue what he was questioning, but apparently everything was okay because he let me continue through. After all that running around I did heaven only knows what I might have walked through. :o I went and found my gate. I was way early and there were people there waiting for the flight ahead of mine. So I sat down and twiddled my thumbs. Another guy came along and sat down near me, and we kind of started talking. He was originally from Texas, but had moved to Minnesota. He is in the construction business and had come down to Florida to make some money with all the hurricane damage. Met a lady down there and was now divided between Minnesota and Florida. Although he said me much prefers Minnesota. They would periodically announce that there were still some first class seats available. Why would I pay almost another $100 just to sit a couple of rows further up? :p The plane arrived and when it was ready they started to board us. First class first of course. Then people with little children and people that needed help. When he realized there really weren't all that many people, he just said, Why don't we just have everybody board. :p I think there might have been a total of 35-40 people on the flight, so I did get my seat to myself. YAY... Because by the time I got on the plane I was ready to crash. I think my continuous running was finally catching up with me. I napped a little bit, because I caught myself drooling (TMI) when I woke up. They served drinks and "airplane" cheeseburgers, and cookies, and because there were so few of us they started giving out seconds. They weren't Burger King, but they hit the spot for a hungry stomach. :p The flight was uneventful and we actually got into Minneapolis about 10 minutes early I think. I went down to baggage claim and got my other suitcase and called my friend, Kevin aka thirteenrocks, who so kindly said he would pick me up. He said he was on his way. On the way home we stopped at the Dairy Queen in Cannon Falls. I was going to get a banana split blizzard. The girl said it was going to be like a malt. She didn't explain why, until someone came in with two very droopy cones that she had just gotten at the drive thru. Apparently their machines weren't working really well at the moment. So I decided to go with a Snickers blizzard. I should have just walked away. The Snickers blizzard wasn't much better than a malt either. There was no way she would have been able to turn the blizzard upside down like they are suppose to do after making them. What a waste of money. We stopped in Zumbrota so Kevin could pick up some sinful sticks. lol..... I gave him his Lego mug then. I believe he really liked it. :) Then we were off for Stewartville. Part of me was missing Disney World, but a small part of me was actually happy to be home. I showed off some of my souveniers to mom and dad. We had supper, and I think I fell asleep in front of the tv shortly after that. :p End of story. :( I hope you enjoyed.
