Sweptember 13th:

Woke up and showered.
Today was going to be Epcot all day. Future World opens at 9 am, and the World Showcase opens at 11 am. Epcot has the extra park hours in the evening today so it won't be closing until 12 mn. Sounds like a good day to me. I headed for the buses and was on my way.
Once you get to Epcot you are greeted with the huge Spaceship Earth ball. It really is amazing how big it is. That of course was my first destination. It was really pretty cool. You ride through time learning how communication evolved. It's kind of weird to think you are riding around inside that giant biosphere. From there I rounded the corner over to the Universe of Energy. To my surprise the ride there is hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. I love her. Ellen tells you about her roommate from college. She was a total brain. So of course Ellen nick named her stupid or something along that line. Ellen's neighbor is Bill Nye the Science Guy. The ride takes you into Ellen's dream where is is battling her old roommate (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) and Albert Einstein on the game show Jeopardy. The subject was all about energy, which Ellen knows nothing about. Ellen gets the first question wrong and from there her old roommate wins every question. At the first commercial break Ellen had -$100, Einstein had 0, and her old roommate had something like $178,000. From there Bill Nye comes back and offers to help Ellen learn about energy. So he takes her back into time to the dinosaur period, and goes forward through time teaching her all about the different types of energy. Ellen comes back and proceeds to beat her old roommates butt, and wins the final Jeapordy. lol...
Next I was going to go to the Wonders of Life pavilion, unfortunately it was closed. Darn...
So I kept on going and went to Mission Space. It is a ride that is suppose to simulate a flight to Mars. They have two variations that you can ride. There is a tamer one and the full on one. I was brave and went for the full version. Each car has 4 riders and you are each given duties to perform/aka buttons to push at given times. lol... I think the most intense part of the ride is the liftoff. I am not sure if it is the same G force that a real rocket has but it is several G forces. There are several health warnings that go with this ride, so I guess it is pretty intense. Someone I keep getting told died on it. I don't know for sure, or was that Space Mountain.
Then I headed over to The Living Seas pavilion. There I got in line for the Turtle Talk With Crush, the turtle from Finding Nemo. It was one of the few waits I had the entire time at Disney. Turtle Talk is an interactive film with Crush. They obviously have it set up with cameras so the person voicing Crush can see the audience, because he would pick specific people out to talk with. Dorie even stopped in for a quick chat. I looked around the different exhibits and the "aquarium". It was pretty dirty that day. I can't remember if someone said they were cleaning or if there was a problem with something causing the dirty water. One of the exhibits is for manatees. They are such beautiful creatures. One of the recent shows I have watched about Disney World was saying that this it the world's largest aquarium and that it would rank as the 6th largest sea in the world. I obviously didn't get to see much of it because it didn't look that big from where I was. :p
Next I went to The Land Pavilion. There I saw The Circle of Life show. It is a film with some of the Lion King characters, but they are telling you about conservation. It is informative and still entertaining. I wanted to ride the Living With the Land ride but it was closed. So I went down to get in line to ride Soarin'. It is a ride that was brought in from Disneyland to help Celebrate Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. It is AMAZING. Yes, there is that word again. You sit in kind of a hand glider type setup. There are three rows of these seats and then they raise all three up so you are sitting in front of this huge screen. Then you watch/ride in a movie that takes you all across California. Depending on where you are you are "sprayed" with the scent of forests, or oceans or orange groves. It is sooo cool. I know I am on a ride, and not flying over oceans or mountains and yet I caught myself lifting my feet so they wouldn't hit things. LOL...
Then I went over to the Imagination Pavilion. There I rode the Journey Into Imagination With Figment. It was kind of silly fun. Definitely geared to the younger crowd, but I have always said inside I am 12 years old. :p Then I went and saw the Honey, I Shrunk The Audience. That was really fun. It is another 3D movie with special effects for the audience. At one point I think it was the dog sneezes and the audience is sprayed with water. :p At another point there are supposedly mice running around and your seat is bumped some how so it feels like the mice are running around under the seats. One lady obviously didn't know it was coming and screamed. It was so funny. After that ride it was getting close to time for World Showcase to open, so I headed in that direction.
