September 8th:

I woke up and called Mary to let her know I was up and she could come on down to Pensacola.
I jumped in the shower and made myself presentable, and waited to Mary to arrive. :p
We sat and chatted for a little while about what we were going to do for the day. We had talked about going to see the play, Oklahoma, that was opening that night at the Pensacola Little Theater. After spending "some time" looking for the theater on the map we finally found it. Mary kind of read the map wrong. lol...... So we headed out to see if we could get some tickets. It took us awhile to find the theater. Nobody has address numbers on the business down there. At least not that neighborhood. We were able to get tickets to that night. YAY.
We got back in the car and decided to head out to Pensacola Beach. I have this thing about driving next to water, and I have a fear of heights. So of course there is a tall bridge that you have to cross to get out to the island and Pensacola Beach. :p It really wasn't that bad. We missed the turn to Pensacola Beach and had to double back around. We got to the beach, and it was a beautiful, but HOT day. We decided to walk out on the pier and see what we could see. What amazing colors. The sky was so blue and so was the water, and the sand was this beautiful white. There weren't that many people out on the beach, but of course it was Friday and I imagine most people were either working or in school. There were a bunch of people fishing off the pier, and every once in awhile it smelled like it. lol... We looked over the railing, not the best for my water and heights fears lol, and there were all these little jellyfish in the water. Kind of glad I don't swim. lol... On the way back off the pier we were looking out over the water and the beach and noticed what looked like it might have been a little shark. It was a little hard to tell. It was swimming at the bottom of the water and heading out away from where we were. We stopped at the little snack shack next to the pier and I laughed that I would get a daiquiri(sp?) if I wasn't driving, and so Mary pointed out that she knew the area and could drive. So I ordered one, but didn't get one. If the Florida heat, the machine was actually frozen up and not working. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I had a sno cone instead.
My other friend, Angie, that I was going to be seeing in Fort Myers called and so we chatted with her for awhile. Then we headed back into Pensacola. I thought we would stop at McGuire's Pub, the restaurant we were planning on eating at and see if we could make reservations because when I walked past it the night before it was PACKED. They didn't take reservations of course so we decided to just go early enough to beat the rush and still make it to Oklahoma that night. We didn't really know what else to do after that so we headed over to the mall. It's amazing how all malls seem to have the same stores in them. However this mall did have a Discovery Channel Store. They had some really cool things in there. We decided to head back to the motel for awhile to relax before going out for supper.
We freshened up and headed over to McGuire's Pub. It was a very nice restaurant. One of the cool things was they had all these one dollar bills hanging from the ceiling. They were signed by customers that had ate there. They also had some signed by celebrities, but they were framed and hanging on the walls. I read some where that they have over $500,000 hanging in there. I sure hope the place never catches fire. :o Mary had a seafood platter and I had a steak burger. Definitely not your ordinary hamburger. After eating we stopped in their little gift shop area and I fell in love with this teddy bear they had. It was sooooo soft and it was wearing a little hooded sweatshirt with their logo on it. I of course had to have it. lol... There were also some very funny t-shirts but I passed to save money for Disney. :p Here is their web site. http://www.mcguiresirishpub.com/
After eating we went back to the motel for a little while before heading to the theater. It was really a nice little theater. It was opening night and they did a really great job. The main characters were mic'ed and I am not a big fan of that. A couple of the characters were obviously have mic troubles. Not so much the actors as I would say the people running the mics off stage. The lead male actor was really good and had a great voice, not to mention he was pretty cute too. :)
After the show we headed back to the motel. We watched some tv and chatted for awhile and then we both crashed for a good nights sleep. I wanted to take Mary to the bar to watch the strippers, but they didn't start until 1 am, and she was tired and I had to drive to Fort Myers the next day. So sleep won out. :p

I want to thank Mary's older kids for stepping up and taking care of Suzanne so that Mary could have a night away and enjoy herself.

Sunday night I went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. It was really good. Especially for a sequel. Some of it was played just a bit over the top, but I think that is what makes the Pirate movies so good. They really aren't taking themselves seriously. They are made for pure fun.
I totally did not see the end coming. Talk about a great lead in for the third installment. YES!!!
Am I the only person that stays until the very end of movies? Ever since Grumpy Old Men put out takes at the end of the credits I have always stayed until the movie is completely done. I did so for Pirates 2 and sure enough there was a short tag at the end. I knew there was going to be something about that dog at the end. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would give it 4 Stars out of 5.

Here is your horoscope
for Tuesday, September 26:

Out of all the signs, you're one of the most compassionate and intuitive. However, your generosity can sometimes turn into unnecessary self-sacrifice. Make sure your actions are needed.

I think this one hits close to home occasionally.
