I shall now attempt to start the tale of Jon's vacation.

September 2nd:
This was the beginning of my time away from work. YAY... It was also when I attempted to begin living in the day time like regular folk. The switch over was a lot harder than I expected, and didn't really happend until I was down in Georgia for the first night. So basically I started the first couple of days of my vacation with very little sleep.

September 4th:
Monday night I took the local shuttle van up to the Minneapolis airport. My flight out was at 6:45 am and the first shuttle in the morning didn't leave until 6 am, so I decided to spend the night in the airport. Maybe try to get some sleep. lol... I tried to check in when I got there, but they told me I couldn't do that until 4:30 am. I found a seat and tried to get some sleep. Not easy to do in an airport. I think they made the seats to keep people from sleeping, and the stupid security announcements that they continually repeat are enough to drive you insane. Morning finally arrived. I checked in, made it through security, and found my gate. I flew Sun Country, Minneapolis to Orlando with a short stop in Fort Myers. I lucked out and had a row of seats to myself, so I was able stretch out a little. I had to laugh when we stopped in Fort Myers. I think a majority of the people got off there. The flight was originally direct to Orlando. Makes me kind of wonder if the stop was planned all along, but just not sold that way. The whole flight was uneventful and we got to Orlando pretty much on time. The Orlando airport is pretty good sized. At least it is spread out. You land on one runway, taxi a ways over to the gates. From there you take a little train ride to the main terminal. Found my way fairly easily to the loading area for the car rental buses, and waited. I think Thrifty could use a few more buses. Got to the car lot and they tried to talk me into a more expensive car and the insurance they sell. I passed on both. I was given a silver Dodge Magnum. For those of you who don't know, that is a station wagon. I have never seen a car that was as basic as this one was. I have never seen a car that didn't have a 1st or 2nd gear. It had a park, reverse, neutral ,and drive. It would also have been nice if they would have shown me how things worked on the car. I had to lower the window to give the guy at the gate some papers as I left, and then I had no clue how to raise the window back up. A mile or two down the road and I figured it out. Anyway, I was now on my way.
My first destination was Daytona Beach. I want to stop there so I could say, I have seen the Atlantic Ocean. Of course as I am getting into Daytona it started to rain a little. You know, Daytona Beach really didn't match up to the map I had. I got lost just trying to find the stupid ocean. How dumb am I? Drive East and there should be a big body of water. lol... I stopped long enough to get a couple of pictures. I hope the film works after going through the xray machine. I was then back on the road. I had a long drive ahead of me to Augusta, Ga. I was going there to see my brother and his wife and their new baby. Mary was born in April.
I had hoped to stop in Jacksonville, Fl to visit my Blurty friend, John, but I had to cancel that because I wasn't to sure about my time. I didn't want to show up at my brother's place to late in the day. One nice thing was a lot of the highway was 6 lanes. I drove through rain off and on.
I finally got into Augusta around 9 pm. I thought I was doing really good and driving right to where I thought my brother lived. I started to drive down this one street and thought, I'm lost. I was going to turn around and the drive I turned into turned out to be their apartment complex entry. YAY... However, then I couldn't remember their exact address. So I called them, but didn't get any answer. Luckily, I had written down their address and just happen to find it in my suitcase. So I found their place, knocked on the door. They were home, but on the computer so their phone didn't ring. lol..... My sister-in-law greets me with, You're so skinny. LOL... My diet started after I had seen them last. :p
They were too kind and gave me their bedroom and they slept on a blowup mattress in the living room. They said if Mary woke up at night they didn't want to disturb me. Like I said, Too kind.

Okay, that is more than enough for the first day. I will try to be a little less windy for the rest of the trip. :p

Here is your horoscope

Some people are geniuses with words, numbers or money. You, on the other hand, are a social genius. Your charm, combined with your rampant curiosity about people, places and things, sparks all kinds of connections.
