Oh the joys of celebrating holidays. NOT......
Things were a little exciting in Stewartville tonight. We were watching the parade when it just kind of came to a stop. Then word started to make it around that a kid had been hit by one of the Shriner's motorcycles. No one was surprised the way some parents let their kids run around. Then a little later, we heard that a team of horses got spooked and run into the crowd. Yikes. Then when the parade was done past our house, which is at the beginning of the route, we heard that some horses had spooked again. Double yikes. Shortly after that my sister-in-law heard that the kid had not been hit by a motorcycle, but had been hit by a float or something, but was okay. The first horse incident was a team of horses made to sharp of a corner had trouble with the reins and the wagon tipped over, and one of the people on the wagon had gotten stepped on by one of the horses. She was taken to the hospital. I didn't hear any more about the second horse incident.
Then when I was leaving to go to work, I had to do my best to avoid the stupid golf carts that had been used by the parade supervisors. They were driving down the streets in the dark with no lights on. They were also not paying any attention to stop signs or any other traffic laws. I was so pissed about that. I am planning on stopping at city hall tomorrow to make a complaint. They should not have been on the street in the dark with no lights, and I would think that motorized vehicles on city streets should have to follow traffic laws. Maybe I am wrong there, but I doubt it. I am not holding my breath that anything will be done about it.

Well, I am working in the ICU tonight, so I don't know if I will be able to keep up with anyone tonight. Sorry, if I miss out on anything.
It also means I don't think I will get to study my script much if at all. And after tonight's rehearsal... Man do I need to study. Just a week and a half before showtime. :o
