I had a great weekend. Yes, I actually had things to do, and I did them. :)
On Friday night, I went with my friend Kevin,  thirteenrocks which is his LJ name, and two of his friends down to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa to see Sacha Sacket perform. Kevin has known Sacha for awhile now and he invited me to come downa and watch him perform. I am so glad that I did. Sacha has an amazing voice. It was made for singing. He does a version of U2 "With or Without You" that is great. I highly recommend checking this singer out if you get the chance to see him live or pick up one of his albums that are available. Here is his web site, http://sachasacket.com/ You see I really can recommend something that isn't from the 80's. lol... He is based out of San Francisco, and I think is heading back that way now. So go look for him. Not only is he a great singer, but he is a super person as well. Just the nicest guy.
Saturday night, I had the great pleasure I accompanying Kevin to LaCrosse, Wis. where he performed as his drag persona Ginger Snap. It was the first time that he has performed since last August. He is in retirement from the biz, but he wanted to do a favor for a friend. It was quite the education watching his go from Kevin to Ginger. The makeup, the costumes, the persona. WOW!!! He says his energy level wasn't that good that night, but you couldn't tell when he was up on the stage. After the show we mingled in the bar for awhile. I got to play bodyguard for him. The fans drunk and sober can get a little carried away. After awhile, we walked over to another bar, and I think some of the best times of the night were when we were just walking through the streets chatting.
We finally got back to Rochester at about 3 am. It was a tad bit foggy. So I was lazy and went home instead of coming in to the hospital to work on my emails and journals. Forgive me please. :)
