	2008.01.12  07.03 New Apartment, New Ghost? Lets hope so! So if you are a member of our MySpace group, you know that recently I moved into a brand new home with my boyfriend, James. Things couldnt be better, we are so happy! And Im even more excited because lately Ive been noticing little things being moved or missing - which is a top ten sign that your house is haunted. Most people overlook this, but ofcouse, not me. The things I have noticed: 1. A wooden figure of a carved angel given to me as a Christmas present a few years back keeps being turned to face the wall. Hmm... 2. A frame with a photograph of James and his three children is always turned facefront and moved up a bit on our coffee table. 3. My keys being moved from the entrance table to the kitchen table or on the floor. 4. And dont forget the strange noises!! However, this could be attributed to being in a new place and not used to the daily settling of the building and things like that. I plan on taking some pictures this weekend, just for fun. Just to see if I get anything! That would just make my day, considering I havent been on an investigation in quite some time and Im dying to go!!! Today would be perfect. I just woke up and let my pooch outside and the sky is just the perfect color of dark clouds and patches of an early morning sky. 	2007.10.21  22.14 New! So we have finally caved and got us a pretty new place on MySpace! We are brand new and would love for you to leave your comments and thoughts on our page! Please visit often and show your support! :) The more the merrier so tell your friends about us - especially with Halloween rolling in! Very exciting! Right now we are doing a major update to our site and its taking longer than expected, but I promise it will be worth the wait! We are adding more haunted articles to the USA section and always adding new articles with ghostly happenings around the nation. Plus, we are hoping to get some new vampire info on too, so if your a total vamp fan (like me!) check back soon. Dont forget that you can always send us your photos and things to add to our site. I dont know if I mentioned it before, but we seem to have an elusive ghost in our home. I use "elusive" because it only comes around when Im not home and scares the crap out of my mom. I think it does that on purpose. It doesnt really seem to do any harm. Just sitting on the edge of her bed, turning the television on in the middle of the night in the living room. The usual. But nothing ever happens when I am at home. Very disappointing. We will see if maybe I can catch something BESIDES orbs. The chances are small but I will keep trying. I was hunting around for that tape that I had taken last year in this house where I caught the voice of a man screaming at me to get out (possibly the older gentleman that died here before we moved in?) but I cant seem to locate it. 	2007.07.22  00.33 Tired as Hell! So I know I havent written in here in a long time. Life seems to always get in the way! But I hope you guys all understand that I am completely dedicated to you and bringing you all the newest and latest (and not to mention coolest) ghost information, UTD and awesome as always. I just did a major update - a new photo gallery (send me your pics!), new articles, new states added (Im getting there), all kinds of goodies. Check it out. And tell your friends too. Yes, that was a shameless plug lol. Sadly, nothing out of the ordinary has been happening around my house, except maybe me having a good hair day. I NEVER have those! Ok, getting completely serious guys, nothing new. But I have been paying attention to other's houses. My friend Sarah (see her photos under "Guest Gallery") has been telling me lots of stories lately about her house being haunted: cold spots, orbs, noises, figures in mirrors, the works. 	2006.12.23  08.59 New Investigation! Wow its been a long time eh? Well good news, the site is coming along great - the only section left is the Haunted USA section. That takes so long to complete!! I cant wait until we are finished and then we can start adding brand new articles and really build it up to great awesomeness! Yes, I did make up a word. Ok, well it seems that there are A LOT of things going on there lately...shadows walking down hallways, people being poked and prodded while they sleep, preventing them from getting back to sleep, voices at night...the usual spooky stuff. They believe that there are three ghosts: a friendly if not skittish little boy (who we caught in a photo located in their designated investigation page), a very sad woman, thought to be the boys mother, and the intimidating male figure, who walks down the hallways and shouts at guests to get out. Well, I had received a call from a very distraught sister in law, asking me to come check it out. Im going there tonight, armed with my digi cam, tape recorder (external mic, ofcourse) and a 35mm camera. Lets see what we can get!! 	2004.06.24  12.28 Nothing New I didnt want anyone to think that I forgot all about this journal. I didnt. Just that nothing has happened at all lately, which is very disappointing, at least to me. I havent been on an investigation in a long time, mainly because I havent had any free time to do so. Im moving soon, so as soon as thats over with, I should have time to get some serious work done. 	2004.05.03  11.07 If its my radio, I get to pick what station!!! So last week, on the way home from work (after a very active period with Dan lately) I was listening to one of my favorite CDs, "Haunted" by Poe. For some reason my CD player kept shutting off, and I was getting really irritated. Finally, I was like "Ok, fine, Ill listen to the radio." So I turned on the radio, and the radio stations started to turn. It went from Fm to Am to Fm again, going through every station you can imagine, even the spanish stations! And no comprende espanol! I literally said to Dan (outloud) "If I cant listen to my music, you cant listen to yours either!" And I shut the radio off after 15 minutes of fighting over the music. He's such a joker. So did anyone watch Mad Mad House? Or am I the only one interested in it? I think the right person won the prize. 	2004.01.21  11.39 Crawlin' Round the Bend Hey everyone! Sorry I havent been able to post anything ghost-like in a while. I have been busy with work. I work at Barnes and Noble, and the actual store doesnt close until 11 pm, which means I dont get home until 12:30 or 1 am. So when I get home, Im pretty tired. But on my days off (like yesterday) I was updating the site for all of you too! Im so excited. Oscar, as you know, is our webmaster, and we just published new photos of a cemetery in Texas that he took himself! Its his first real investigation, because he's never gone out before, and its just so wicked, these pics. And I was also working on my new book "Twisted". Think of Marilyn Manson (God I love him). There's a sneek peek of it on the forum. Have you signed up for the forum yet? You should. You can post and access so many things! There has been a new thread or post at least once every day, with tons of links, and information. If youre not in the learning type of mood, theres also links to games and such. It takes all of 10 seconds, and if youre loyal to The BRGS, or a constant visitor, take advantage. Its free. I hope to see more members there...its getting quite disappointing. Anyway, Im flying off on all these different tangents. But guess what happened to me a few days ago. I say it was a few days ago because again, I didnt have time to update my journal for all of you. But yes, a few days ago, I had just gotten home from work around 1 am, and I immediately crashed into bed. I was in one of those sleeps where you are asleep, but not completely, because you are aware of whats going on around you. Well, all of a sudden I heard a shuffling across my carpet. It wasnt like someone walking, it was like someone (or something...it?) was crawling around on its hands and knees (if it has hands and knees). I knew it wasnt my cat, because my sister had spent the night and I heard her talking to Dakota, and Dakota responding. I was completely paralyzed. My mind wasnt awake and I couldnt focus on anything that was going on...I just knew something was crawling around the side of my bed to where I was sleeping (on the left). I know youre going to ask, "How do you know you didnt dream it?" Let me tell you, I KNOW I didnt dream it. I was awake, just my mind wasnt working yet. The crawling stopped, and all of a sudden I heard a growl, or a whine, I cant decide exactly WHAT I heard...it cant really be put into a category. I heard it though, and it sent chills down my spine. I couldnt breathe, I was unable to move. But then my cat jumped up on my bed, broke the 'trance' so to speak, and went to sleep curled up next to me. The thing that was in my room apparently left, because otherwise I believe my cat would have been upset. I believe animals sense these things, and can see what we can not. For instance, orbs. My cat is always chasing them around. But I wonder what it was. Hopefully I can find out if its the same 'ghost' (who knows if we can call it that yet) that created footsteps in my dad's home, and has been the one bothering me here. 	2004.01.06  09.57 Sup, peeps LoL. Who really talks like that anyway? So guess what comes out on Video and DvD today? Thats right! Underworld! Im so excited. I cant wait until I get paid Friday to go get it. Its not one of my favorite movies, but an excellent movie nonetheless. Nothing has happened recently to report about. Although I can see plenty of things have been happening in other places! Such as the costumed 'ghost'. If you have something to say on that, you can post it in our forum. 	2003.08.25  11.10 The Footfalls again The most littlest but hopefull thing happened only a few days ago! Literally a few! Greg and I had decided to go out around 9:30 to rent movies, one of which was The Haunting, which I had seen a million times but wanted to see again for the sake of it, and also because Greg had never seen it before. By the time the movie was over, it was about 12:30 or 1 am, and we decided just to get to bed. I had almost just fallen asleep when all of a sudden I heard slow shuffling across my carpet in my room. Now, my door was open, and I do have a cat, but she doesnt weigh over 200 lbs, to make shuffling like that. I know definitly that they were human footsteps. No one was in my room but me, not even my cat. She was off somewhere napping. I heard four footsteps, the kind where when you get too lazy to lift up your feet, they drag. Then all of a sudden I heard my closet doorknob turn, and the door opened by itself about 4 inches! The closet door can only be opened by turning the knob. It doesnt pop open. I also always keep that door completely closed because I worry about Dakota (My cat) getting in there and tearing my artwork to shreds. I wasnt scared or anything. I was joyous!! Finally, some proof that there is something in here! Thats what I had been waiting for, forever! Some small sign, and behold! I got it. I just went back to sleep. When I woke up in the morning, I told my mom about what happened and she said "You know I had something happen to me too!" She woke up early, around 5 am, and watched a bit of tv, since she couldnt get back to sleep. When she started to get drowsy, she turned the television off. "I know I turned it off because the screen went black". Turning her back on the tv in her room, it wasnt more than a few seconds before she said she heard "voices." At first she thought it was the television in the living room. She thought we were awake. But turning around, she saw that her tv had flipped on! And there was nothing electrical to do with it. No storms, no rain, nothing. It was bright and sunny, and a yucky 90 degrees! I cant wait for something to happen again!!! - Sam Mood: loved

	2003.07.22  16.20 Im so Sad!!! Its very very disappointing when there is absolutely NO activity in a new house, when youre so used to there being TONS in the old house! I havent heard one footstep, one whisper, one bump, nothing! 	2003.05.25  19.52 Updates Things that have happened since we moved into our new home: 1. A cell phone owned by us rang from our old house number. The house number is disconnected and currently an unworking number. Also, there was no new tenants in the home when the phone rang. 2. Jake, Dad's dog, was watching something very intently in the corner of the living room. The corner is located over my late grandmother's picture on the end table. 3. The feeling of being watched. Is this a sign of Dan? We hope so! :o) Mood: nerdy

	2003.05.17  00.17 From Email to Journal and Alive to Tell about it! This email exerpt was taken from one of Jeremy's and mine "newsletters" as we call them. For those who dont know, Jeremy is a dear friend who helped me get this site off the ground! Hes also a paranormal investigator who has been doing this sort of thing for many years. He always helps me out with my dilemmas, which are MANY! This email was written on May 9th, 2003. Remember, its an exerpt, meaning its only part of the email. "Jeremy, I think that thing followed me back! I have to tell you what happened. I woke up at about 8:30 am, and I had just sat up in bed and the power went out. I thought it was odd because it was sunny and a very nice day outside, but thats nothing THAT unusual, because Com Ed Sucks. LoL. It came back on ten seconds later. So I went around and fixed the clocks and recorded the message for the answering machine again. It went off again as soon as I finished that task. So I was kind of getting irritated because theres a lot of clocks in my house hehe. So I reset them again, and logged onto the net and was loading homestead to put the picture up and take down Fantom's link, when the power went out once again. And again it came back on. This was like in a span of ten minutes. I didnt think this was really anything paranormal. That was the furthest thing from my mind. I reached down to turn the computer back on, thankful that I didnt really start anything on Homestead so I didnt lose any information. Ive had that happen, where Ive written a long article and poof! Its gone. When I went to turn the computer on, it wouldnt go on. I kept pressing the button but it wouldnt work. And the power was on at this point. So I switched the main extension cord button off, then on, and all of a sudden, my sisters Nickelodeon clock came on. It has this neon glow thing at the top that flashes when the alarm goes off, and it was flashing faster than it should have, and the radio had come on, pure static though. I thought this was wierd cause the radio wasnt on, and this is when I started to think that it was something supernatural at work here. I reached up, shut the thing on and then off, and it still wouldnt go off! The static wouldnt go away and the lights wouldnt stop blinking and the radio was off. So I practically yanked the cord out and its still off even now! I started feeling uneasy and threatened. But, braveheart that I am, I got up and starting going through the house, and felt definite cold spots in the hallway, but only in the hallway. The hallway leads to our 3 bedrooms, and then leads back out into the kitchen and living room. I can take pictures of the setup if you want. I walked into the living room and felt nothing but the same panicky feeling, and I happened to glance into the tv. You know how when tvs are off, they can make reflections just like mirrors? The reflection of the tv shows the doorway into the kitchen, and our kitchen table. Well, when I glanced into the reflection, I ended up staring because there was somone in the kitchen. I saw them in the reflection, and Im the only one home during the day. I would have screamed if I could have found my voice, because I have never been scared before like that in my life, even with that malicious demon girl, whatever you want to call her. I felt true fear. I took off running into my sisters room, shut the door (more like slammed) and came online to record what had happened. I didnt take any pictures, but since then, it hasnt happened again. Nothing out of the ordinary. I swear it was that thing from my dads house. I keep calling it that thing I know. I dont know why :p > >But thats what happened. Scared the shit out of me! I dont know why I slammed the door because I doubt thats really going to stop it if it wanted to come in and pay me a visit, but out of habit and natural instinct...put a barrier between you and the evil. I dont know. See, the investigator part wants it to happen again, but the me part wants it to go away. Youre the only person ive told about this incident. Dan sure wasnt there for that one!!!! Hes slacking on the job lol. Im not sure whether what i saw was male, female, adult, child, what. I think I was too scared for it to register completely. I wish I could remember!" Pretty intertesting eh? Well, Jeremy also stated that he thought the entity wouldnt reappear after that, at least as it did this time, and thankfully it hasnt. 	2003.05.05  10.29 Not Again... I would like to share with you a very weird occurence and it actually happened at my fathers house. Yesterday evening to be exact. It started out with my dad asking me to take the dog out really quick while he got ready to go to his friends house to play his usual game of cards. I got Jake and proceeded to go to the back door of the house. To get to the back door, you have to open another door from the kitchen and go down some steps that lead to the back door, but then also lead to another set of stairs to the basement. I took him out, hooked him up to the chain and waited by the screen door because it was starting to rain hard and I didnt want to leave him out too long. I was waiting, tapping my foot, and I yelled at him because he was barking really loud, and my dad doesnt like when he does that, and then i heard footsteps down in the basement. I thought that maybe it was my dad because he could have gone down to the basement when i was outside hooking jake up to the chain and I wouldnt have even seen him go. Not through the darkening sky and the rain. So I thought nothing of it but then i heard it again, and it sounded like feet were scraping against the concrete. Heavy feet, like boot clad feet. So I sort of leaned down and looked down the old wooden stairs into the basement and they stopped, so i slowly turned back to watch jake, and they started again. I switched on the light by the staircase and looked down again and again it stopped. I began to think that it wasnt my dad. I didnt call out or anything. Instead, I walked from the small platform, up the few steps that led through the door into the kitchen, opened the door and looked around it and saw my dad getting his cigarettes and then putting his coat on to leave. I was quite surprised at this, and I felt somewhat uneasy about the whole thing. I was all that shocked, because most of you know the history of my father's house, and it does tend to be haunted. This is where I had my first encounter with Dan. I walked back down to the platform, the dog forgotten at the moment, and looked back at the basement. I heard shuffling again like footsteps. It wasnt an animal. I know the difference between paws and heavy boots. I didnt need any more time to think about it...I ran upstairs, not to run away but to grab my camera I told my dad there was something downstairs, and sat on the third step of the basement staircase, taking pics. I dont know if i caught anything, but the LCD panel showed me some orbs. I have to upload the pictures yet and see. The footsteps stopped and I went downstairs, feeling very brave an confident, and I just felt like someone was watching me. But it didnt feel like Dan. I know what his presence feels like by now. So I went back upstairs and sat at the table (my dad was gone) and I called for Dan. Literally called out for him. I felt a little better, like he was with me (even though he didnt physically show me he was), but that wasnt him downstairs. It was exactly like the creepy feeling I used to get when I lived here and slept upstairs. Upstairs, there are three rooms, and I slept in the right room when I occupied the household. There were no doors on the rooms. They werent there when my dad bought the place. He is a very good self employeed handyman, and he bought the house to renovate it. He goes room to room fixing it up completely, but he hasnt started the upstairs yet. I was fine with it because he put a door to the staircase that leads up to the rooms. Anyway, from the position of my bed, I could clearly see the attic door. The door wasnt in the ceiling or the floor. It was against the far wall directly across from my room. I hated sleeping at night because I felt scared, panicky, and couldnt take my eyes from that door. I used to force my cat to sleep on my bed with me ALL night because I was terrified. I dont get scared easily but this door and this upstairs brought me genuine fear. The odd thing was, I was ALWAYS up there. Despite the fact I felt like I was having anxiety attacks every time I looked at that door, I was constantly upstairs. When I moved, I had no problem leaving that behind. And since then, over a year ago, I have NOT been up there. I wont go up there either. I know the presence I felt upstairs was not friendly, even if I never did see anything. In the basement, it brought all those old feelings back. I think it was the same entity. Im not sure. But I did get pictures. So that will help. Greg thinks that Dan protects me and shields me away from most of the things that I really could be witnessing. Its funny because at first Dan didnt like me either and was fully content with making my life hell. This is what Greg said about it when I told him about the footsteps in the basement: "and the walking heavy thing doesn't sit well with me.....in my unprofesional opinion, it's not good.........it's like the ghost was walking loud and uncaringly....and that it would most likely be a disturbed spirit because of it's uncaring nature... like it would be unpredictable" Ill keep you updated with the photographs and let you know what turns up. -Sam Mood: artistic

	2003.04.21  23.42 If you wanted to use my pen, all you have to do is ask! Yesterday evening I was on the phone with Greg, my boyfriend (and soon to be fiance I hope!), and I had just gotten done reading him an exerpt from a book by Jude Deveroux....yes yes yes, she writes romance. Boo hiss! Hey, shes one of my fav authors lol. I had just finished reading from the book when all of a sudden I heard a slight scraping sound, like something was being dragged, rolled, just plain MOVED across my desk. Now for those who dont know, which SHOULD be the majority, my desk is huge, and its in the corner against the far wall, but next to my bed, so I was really close to the sound, and my cat was not there in the room with me. At first I kinda just froze, then said "Peacoitty, (thats a very original nickname for him) theres a ghost in my room." He replied like anyone else would...in surprise and disbelief...not that he didnt believe me. He did. But it was kind of at a very curious moment. Then the sound stopped, and started again a few seconds later. I thought it might have been my grandmother, but quickly dismissed it, blaming it on Dan. Hes more obvious then my grandmother, and he loooooves attention (kinda like my baby hehe). Maybe Dan was just voicing his opinion on my story. Who knows! But it was very surprising to me also, who wasnt expecting it. Another big horror!!!! : The mean ol bat on the phone card practically screaming in your ear YOU HAVE 2 MINUTES REMAINING!!!! 	2003.04.16  11.07 Whispers This happened yesterday night. For those who live in Chicago and are reading this, yesterday was rather warm, and the sudden temperature change affected everyone, putting most in a bad mood. Because of this, when I went to bed at about 11:30 pm, I did not actually fall asleep for a while. I tossed and turned, and even though my window was open, I was getting no air inside my room, and it was so hot, I was ready to kill. So ending up sprawled out on the bed with all the covers on the floor, I finally closed my eyes and heard a faint whisper. At first I thought it was maybe a group of people outside on their patio, and it was when I heard it again that I rose to investigate. There was no one outside, and I am positive I heard a distinct female voice whisper my name. I wonder who it could have been... -Sam Mood: bored Music: Coldplay: The Scientist
