Hi all,
Yesterday after the show a woman approached me and - after complimenting us - gave me her business card, as she's the Board Chair of the American Chemical Society. She was passionate about what the show said about the importance of science in our modern world, and thought the work we did was incredible.
She told me that 2011 will be the Year of Chemistry, (similar to our beloved Year of Astronomy) and the Society will be having a major convention that year, probably in DC. She was very interested in bringing our production to the conference.
Of course, this is merely discussion at this point, and there are still a lot of details that need to be discussed and approved by powers other than she and I. However, I told her that it certainly was possible, and the first step to making that happen (in addition to her bringing more folks from the Society to see the show next weekend) was for me to let you know about it. Do understand that I would be budgeting for not only proper salaries for actors/designers/crew but also full travel costs, rooming expenses and per diems.
I don't have much more information now, but as it becomes available, and as this possibility becomes more or less likely, I will let you know.
I'm so proud that our hard work is exciting so many people!
