you can't wipe out an entire tent city then watch "it's a wonderful life" on tv. [26 Mar 2009|09:59am]
um. okay. so. wow.

kate and i went to rent last night. as you may know, original cast members anthony rapp and adam pascal are starring in the tour right now. kind of a big deal for me. as i've pointed out several times in the last couple days, i was absolutely in love with this show when i was 16-17. i did, in fact, have a picture of adam pascal in my locker (along with other lovely men of musical theatre, such as john partridge. me-ow). to see these guys perform was pretty much a major highlight of my life. even if we were way up in the balcony.

side note: balcony seat at the orpheum are actually pretty awesome. you still have some knee room and you can see everything without peoples' heads getting in the way.

the show was prett great. mimi kind of had a weird accent sometimes. she kind of sounded like she might be from canada, based on the way she pronounced the word "out." i don't know. collins had a fabulous voice. angel cracked me up. good stuff.

so anyway, we went to the cast party at manhattan's afterwards. we scored ourselves a booth and were enjoying glass of wine #1 when kate saw one mr. adam pascal walk in.

commence fangirl mode.

so we were kind of... i don't want to say freaking out, but we were. just a little. i finished my wine and finally saw the perfect opportunity- he was standing at the bar and the only person talking to him was a coworker. so! i headed up to the bar for a new glass of wine and sort of, as i was waiting, managed to get included in the end of their conversation. then the coworker wandered off and i had my moment. the following brief conversation ensuded, during which i was totally cool and not squeeing fangirl at all (no, seriously. i'm not that ridiculous):

me: so how are you liking minneapolis so far?
adam: it's great! we just got here but it's been cool.
me: good! good. well, you were great tonight, thank you. *goes in for a hadshake*
adam: *received handshake with both hands* oh, thank you, sweetheart, thank you.

and we smiled at each other and i took my wine back to the table and died a little.

later i wanted to pull the same stunt with anthony rapp but it was an epic fail. i did touch his arm though... yeah.

today on my way to work i felt compelled to listen to the obc recording.

yep. fangirl.
