i need a vacation.
work has been driving me batty lately, for no particular reason.
i get one "personal holiday" a year, which i'm using for the 10 of 12 for tech week. so instead of using it for my birthday and thus having a long weekend, i'm using it on a tuesday and doing a different kind of work instead. i'm okay with that though (if i wasn't, i'd have just called in sick or would've said i couldn't get the day off and not done the 10 of 12). after may 1st, i'm eligible for my two weeks of vacation time. so that's 10 random days i can take off. or i could take a whole random week off. oh, the things i would accomplish at home if i did that. hm... maybe this summer sometime.
anyway. today i went to a stagger-through for galileo and learned that one of my duties as ASM will be running the sound board. that's all well and good, except for the minor fact that the only time i ever ran sound, it was for two performances and there was no board. instead, we were switching between a laptop and a mini-disc player, which were hooked up to a PA. yeah, ghetto. i can learn the board though, that's just fine.
once upon a tine i designed lights for a show. it was for stagecoach. it was... well, it looked fine and worked well, for their little show but man. it was not good.
that was lights, though. sound, i know nothing about. but i'm optimistic.
it's going to be a good show.
