as i mentioned on twitter and in an email, the internet at home is down. there's been no wireless anywhere in the building since sunday. i guessi should blame comcast, but i just want to pin everything on the republicans right now. it could also be the landlords.
so i'm at white rock right now catching up on my shiz and drinking an amazing white mocha cooler. after this i will go to the bank and get quarters, then go across the street to lunds to pick up stuff for dinner. i think i'll make tacos while the laundry's in. i'm a housewife this week.
so! the show opened on friday and, tech-wise, it was our best night. there were some issues with lines by there's no way the audience could tell. saturday night right before we opened house i discovered there were some lights out. the l ighting designer had just left so i called her and, after a lot of franticness (new word!), we learned that one of the dimmers was out because a fuse blew in the building. we got it fixed and opened the house and got rolling.
and then it died again right at the top of the show. so we were without 3 lights and two of them happened to be specials. it was awkward.
sunday we ran into a similar problem but with only one light, fortunately. this time we were prepared and when something didn't work, i worked the faders in such a way that, again, the audience was oblivious. ariel (the lighting designer) struk the light and re-wrote the cues it was used in and just substituted another light. what resulted was what we had for yesterday's show and it works just fine, but it's not quite as pretty as it used to be.
now we don't have another show until thursday. i'm looking forward to the break.
i haven't really been doing anything other than the show. just enjoying my mini vacation. i'm looking forward to starting the new job next week and feel so lucky that i don't have to worry about traveling during this stupid convention.
